2007 Mustang GT Fuel Level Low DTE FLI Data Err - one touch top
I installed the OTT-1M5 One-Touch Top Module into my car. The one-touch down feature is working, the one-touch up is not. After the install I am now receiving a Fuel Level Low DTE FLI Data Err and my fuel gauge is reading empty, although it's not.
I have a call in to WebElectric Products about the problems.
Any ideas about the Fuel gauge? I checked the fuses in the fuse box (smart junction box) behind the passenger kick panel, no issues.
It could be the fuel sending unit that has failed or it could just be just a glitch from installing the module. Did you disconnect the battery when you installed it? If not, disconnect the battery for 1/2 hour and then see if the error returns.
i had a similar problem with my stang when i had the car turned on (not the engine) while i was 1/2 way through filling up my car. The meter was all messed up. My advice to you if the battery disconnect does not work. try filling up the tank, so you know its full, then drive around a while and see if the computer corrects itself.
I tried disconnecting the battery. The error came back. I'll try filling the tank and driving for a while. See if that does the trick.
I figured my problem with the one-touch. I hooked up a wrong wire. Ugh. Miss took the blue/pink wire for the violet/orange wire. And no, I'm not color blind....
i had a similar issue with the "empty tank" took it to Ford after 4 hrs they concluded that there was a sulfur deposit on the sensor and to use chevron techron for a couple of fill ups and the problem would go away. it seems to have worked.

A can or two of Seafoam would resolve it even quicker.

It tells you in the owners manual ( at least for the 06 ) that the key needs to be off when you fill the tank or it can possibly not register the fill correctly. Try turning off the key and filling the tank again and see if that helps.

How long did it take to install and how difficult is it? Also how much did the job cost?

If I hadn't grabbed the wrong wire the install would have been pretty quick. Under an hour. It involves taking off the passenger kick panel and cutting into a few wires.
If you click on the link "Online Instructions" on the left of the site you can also get to the install instruction.
PS. I'm still working on getting my gas gauge working. The odd thing is the MPG reading is still registering. I guess it doesn't run off the gas gauge.
My fuel gauge is working again as of this morning. I went back through the install. The instructions called for me to cut a yellow/light blue wire. I cut the light blue/yellow wire. The wires both go to the same connector and are exact negatives of each other. I made the switch and everything is now working as it should. Maybe this will teach me to rush through an install. (probably not).

I too had the similar problems, called the guy at WebElectric for help, but figured it out before he was able to get back to me, thru a process of working backwards after the install to insure all was done according to instructions. I found in one step, there were 2 black wires, one had to be spliced into the other was left alone. I spliced into the wrong one, not knowing and the instructions didn't speak of 2 black wires. One was shiney the other flat black. Fixed the problem and all work perfectly. I passed this on to the guy at WebElectric(forget his name) and he said he'd check into it and add the clarification in his instructions.
LOL - I had the same error message due to OE (operator error), meaning I connected the wrong wire. I am color blind so I had a friend come over to help me ID the wires, I guess he picked the wrong one, but everything is fine now.
