yep I am a Navy volunteer out here to help support the Army. I have 4 more months best time to mod a car. Tax Free, Hazardous Duty, and other little pays you get out here. How do you think a 23 year old has all most 30 grand in mods... Ive been on 4 deployments in 5 and a half years lol not to mention have a 05 GT with only 13,000 miles lol

This is my last one though then I get to stay home for 3 years

Stay safe. Where abouts are you? My best friend is in the Army reserves and he is headed over there in march after he completes his training. He is headed to southern Iraq. He is waiting to reenlist until he gets there(like you said tax free).

Navy voluteer with the Army? You must be a pe.k.r checker...er...um...Corpman.

Last time I went in to change my insurance I wore one of my old Navy ballcaps and my insurance guy commented that he'd been a Corpman in the Navy. Without thinking I blurted out "Oh, you were a p.cke. checker." He owns the insurance place I go to and all the ladies working in the background cracked up. Surprisingly, my insurance rates didn't go up.

I remember the good ol' days when I used to come back stateside with more money than I knew what to do with. There's a lot of truth to the old saying 'Spend money like a sailor'.

Stay safe and watch out for scorpions in your rack.

DatBoyRacer-Navy guys tend to spend a lot of time out of country (makes it hard on married guys). Longest stretch I had was 4 1/2 yrs before I stepped back onto American soil. First place I went was Arby's. It was wonderful being able to read all the signs and billboards.

Nope that was my cousin he was FMF.. Most Corpsmen go with Marines. I am an IT doing comms support. The title is a lot more cool then comms support but just don't want to give to much info on a forum. I deal with any thing that has wires pretty much though. 85% of of the time I will be in the wire which is in the Palace so I am safe and good to go. The other 15% well I have yet to find out.

When I was in Baghdad this time last year the water froze, but it never did snow. After the triple digit summers, though it's a harsh transition. Be safe and take comfort in the fact that we don't have to live in that forsaken place.

Just curious, but how long are the Navy deployments in Theater up to now anyways? We were always jealous because the A.F. guys we saw left after four months meanwhile us Army guys were stuck for 15. I don't recall seeing any Navy guys apart from corpsman...
