Default Using same tuner for a different car - what to do??

I am trading in my 07 GT tomorrow for an 08 GT. I am going to pull off my CAI & perform a "retun to stock" with my SCT X-Cal2.

What needs to be done, if anything, for it, the tuner, to work on my 08 GT?

I needed to give the tuner my ECM code, but I don't know why. Do I need to get new tunes?

You have to restore the car to it's stock tune first. Then it can be unlocked. since the pcm code will be different in the new car, you can't use the same tune. Interesting, I didn't know you could change the PCM code yourself. If you can, I don't know if you can use the same tunes or not
Probably the best thing to do is contact the dealer who sold you the SCT.

I have 3 y/o daughter and I want her to be as safe as possible. The 08 has side curtain airbags standard, front and rear. I want to keep her as safe as I can.

Some will still say "get a different car then", but I don't want a different one.

Congrats on the upgrade.
You should be able to return your 07 to stock tune, and then tune your 08 with the JLT street tune.
Looks like that is the only thing that really matters in your sig.

like PCfrish said you will need to put the stock tune back on your 07 before you get rid of it or you will not be able to reset the tunner and get a new tune for the 08. I just bought a used one that was used on an 07 and after he put the stock tune back on his car i was able to "reset" the tunner and my brenspeed tune on for my 08 on it. I highly doubt your current tune will work, nor would i try to put your 07 tune on your 08

I just spoke to Tillam Speed, I need to do a return to stock, then plug it into the new car and get some code. I need to email them the code so they can email me a code to unlock the tuner. They will also send all 3 tunes with the new ECM code for my 08.

Ok, so I might not get that 08 GT after all, it doesn't have some options that I told the salesman I wanted, such as 1) 3.55:1 Gears 2) GT Appearance Pkg 3) Shaker 500 Stereo

I didn't realize it until lunch this afternoon. I called the saleman back and he is looking to see if they have one & if not, maybe doing a dealer transfer.

I guess we will see by lunch tomorrow, that's when I am supposed to start signing paperwork.

The side curtain air bags was a selling point for me and my children! Send the tuner back to an experienced programmer and I am sure they'd fix you up!

ok, so I'm picking up the 08 GT on Monday. The dealership os doing a dealer transfer. The one I am getting has a few more options than I needed, but they are still nice. Leather, Sirius, 18" wheels & active anti-theft. Of course I am paying for it, they just needed to do something or I was going to Houston to look.

Anyhow, I just thought I'd share that, I'll keep you guys posted!

Sounds nice. Are you pulling the JLT and the GTAs off the old one?

The 08 has side curtain airbags standard, front and rear.

I don't think the 2008 has air bags for the rear passengers and don't think the side air bags that they do have are the curtain type. You might want to check on this if thats the main reason your tradeing.

I pulled them off yesterday morning. I forgot how AWFUL the driver side muffler was to put back on.

You're right, it's not front & rear, but rather a curtain.
