Default S197 Mustang... What's the unused wiring harness in center console??

does anyone have a scematic for a 2007 mustang gt 5spd? when i pulled the top of the console up there was an unused harness. the 12v outlet and aux input are both connected. is this a harness for an automatic shifter? and if it is. is there a dimmer turn on for the P,R,N selector lights? is there a 12v acc turn on source on that harness that i can use for an amp turn on? thanks for the help.

Default 2006 Mustang center console electrical question...

I was installing my power antenna today and had the center console out. I was wondering whats the electrical plug under the console for? Its directly underneath the cup holders.

Thanks.

Under the cup holders? There is a 12v one inside the console.

Lighted and cooled cup holder... thats not a bad idea. Ok so the lighted part would be easy enough. Where would I get a cup cooler?

I've seen that sort of thing on lots of cars. Typically, they make one wiring harness that will accept any of the options a car might come with. Sometimes, they'll plan for a future option and add it to the harness from the start so they don't have to pay to retool. Other times, they'll plan on an option and not follow through. They won't change the harness because, again, it would mean a cost to retool.

I wouldn't doubt they had the new lighting effects package in mind from the start and made allowances for it when they designed the harness. It might also be the lead for the power passenger seat introduced last year. It could also be for a future Flux Capacitor.
Who Knows? You'd have to get out a multi-tester and see what each pin does.

OK, so I've added a few things to it. Check my Profile - too many to list here.
