I would like to get one of those and put a BOSS 429 under it!
A buddy of mine at work came across a 427R side oiler engine in the crate a couple of years ago (you know those little ole lady stories....the woman sold it to him for 3500 because her husband had died and she was dumping everything he had). When he checked the serial number on it he found that it was a fairly rare Ford racing engine and brand spanking new to boot. He put it in a 67 fastback with two Holley 800 or 1000 carbs on top and it is cranking out a little over 800 hp the last time on the dyno......he says he gets about 3-4 mpg and it is hell to drive but he loves it.

Yeah, those little old lady stories are good. I know where a Boss 351 is sitting under a barn right now. The barn fell on it a couple of years ago and it is still sitting under it. That car has been sitting since 1988 I know for a fact. Green on green with everything there and low miles. I got my 65 Chevelle SS in one of those little old lady stories.
There is also several rare cars running around here. My cousin has a 62 Galaxy with a 406 / 4 speed. Red on red and sounds wicked. He had a Torino with a 429 CJ or SCJ and a 427 Galaxy / 4 speed. My mechanic's brother used to race a Chevy lightweight with a 409 (427) / 4 speed (bubble-top I think) and that car is somewhere around here. Used to be a Thunderbolt in the neighborhood, but it was long gone before my time.
When I was in college, one of the guys on my floor was telling me his grandfather's retirement plan. He was an engine builder from the old NASCAR days and he had held onto several original NASCAR Hemis. Dodge had told him he could have them. Along with all the spare parts, so he put them away in a barn. Retirement is treating him GREAT. Put the guy through college with one engine.
First of all, let me say that I think it looks great and would love to have the same hood on my 'Stang. However, I can't seem to bring myself to just stick on a 'nonfunctional' scoop. For some reason it just seems silly to me. Does anyone make that same hood but with an actual functioning scoop? I
i barely notice my roush hood scoop as well. i was worried as well about visual impairment but it just looks so darn good.
I dont notice my roush scoop anymore, but when i let my friend drive it he always says "all i see is hoodscoop and hood!" i cant see the front of the car lol.. he's used to his car where the hood aims down so u can basically everything.
