Which upgrade will be more significant - Tuner or Gears?
Performance wise, I only have 2 small modifications:
1. BBK cold air intake
2. Steeda pulleys
For next modification, I'm between a X-calibur tuner from Bamachips or 4:10 gears, both will run me in the neighborhood of $400 so price advantage between the two doesn't matter.
I most likely won't be using a 91 - 93 octane tune as I'll be sticking to regular 89 octane gas (although, I can't say with 100% certainty I wont EVER run those octanes).
I don't race my car either, professionally that is.
Vehical stats:
- '06 GT
- 5 speed stick
- Completely factory other than the 2 mods listed above performance wise (unless lowering springs count)

Yeah the tuner would be the best thing, especially since ya got the cai. And like SLTWAGON said, your gonna have to get the speedo reading right after gears with a tuner anyways. Look into SCT tuners.

Get the tuner... You'll need it for the gears anyway to recalibrate the speedo.
Can you still drive the car without recal on the speedo? i just need to get it home from the shop then i will use my tuner to recal. I dont see any harm in it but just thought i would ask.

Yeah, you'll be fine. The speedo will be slightly off, but just drive with traffic and you'll be okay.

Depending on what gears do you currently have... the biggest seat of the pants change would be gears (4.10) if you have the stock 3.27 gears. The gears don't add any HP, but will change the driving character of your car, it will jump off the line like a totally different car. The tune and CAI will add a significant increase in HP (25+)
You can't loose either way go. The 3 most common mods: CAI/Tune, Exhaust, Gears. All worth the money
