Default So much for Meguiar's Scratch-X...

No luck on the scratches from the drywall. Some of them look better, but where it initially hit, they are still very obvious.

Between that and the hail damage, I may be at my $500 deductible!
Maybe I'll just file a claim with insurance and let them fix it all.
Geez!

Well, it probably couldn't hurt to get an estimate. You don't necessarily have to contact the insurance company first. See how much it would take to get it all fixed.

OK, so I've added a few things to it. Check my Profile - too many to list here.

Sorry to hear that. I know calling your insurance provider was not high on your list of options, but it sounds like that might be best. Good luck with everything.

Excellent point! I will have body shop guy give me an estimate on all of it.
Thank you!!! Don't know why I didn't think of that!

The scratches must be all the way through the clearcoat.

I don't know. I don't think you can feel them, if that's a determinant...

Generally if you can't feel them with your fingernail it should come out with polishing compound.

Did the Scratch X minimize the scratches at all? If you can't feel the scratches with your fingernail (carefully) then they still might buff out. Sometimes it just takes a lot of elbow grease to get rid of them. Try working on them a bit more and buff them out with an orbital buffer. You might just be surprised with the results. If that doesn't work you're just back to square one but it might save you some money.
