When its unlocked not turned on, sorry about that.


At my mustang meets, I've seen how the other mustangs' lights flash on and off and then stay on when the car is disarmed. How do I acquire that feature? I believe i was told by a few that i could do it with a tuner, but not sure if thats actually possible and if so with which tuner would I need?

Any help or suggestions are appreciated.


Also, I need some led light bulb replacements and need a few good reliable sites or companies to acquire them from. Thanks.

I think what your talking about is where when you stop the car and the lights stay on for 30-45 sec. before they turn off (don't remember the exact name of the feature) it was available on the 07 and newer cars, it can be accessed through the on-board menu.
As far as the LED's I believe www.americanmuscle.com has them and if I'm not mistaken they are on sale this month.

I haven't seen that feature, but I believe my friends' mustangs have all the lights turn on when the car is unlocked, mine when its unlocked doesn't do anything, not even the flashing of exterior lights, only when I lock it.

How do I access the on-board menu? what type of device do I need? Can i use my aftermarket tuner or do I need a factory ford tuner?

I believe it has to do with settings in the anti theft system. I am not sure how to do it but would like to know myself.

It was not an option for the 06 Mustangs you don't need a tuner to access it.but I think it's only on the premiums.

They started this with the 2007 models, all of them does it.

With my 07 with anti theft. When i click "unlock" the headlights along with all of the light on the car light up. After about 30 seconds they turn off, when i click the "lock" all the lights flash (very good to look at sequentials with this )

Even when i put my key into the door and unlock it that way, the headlights STILL come on. I fear my headlights will burn out pre-maturely from all of this turning on and off

mine is an 05 and it was the v6 with all the accessories except mycolor ofcourse and i wonder if it had that feature or if i can turn it on someway? I believe i might be able to and yes thats the feature im talking about hotshot.

I would really like it.

On the 2005s only the interior lights come on.

Yeah mines an 05 v6 with all the bells and whistles and only mt interior lights come on when I unlock it.

Call me simple but I dont see whats so cool about your head lights turning on when you unlock your car...

I also want it, but will not go crazy about it. if you ind a solution let me know. But with it, at least you know when you put the key in your pocket accidentally unlock the doors. without it you dont know until you come back to your car.
