so whatcha guys think, my buddy has a 05 wrx (not sti) with a CAI and exhaust and wants to race me. my headers will be installed this coming week. think he will beat me? my mods are listed in my profile, right now im only running diablo sport's 93 octane tune, not the bamachips one
I hate to say it but i think hes got ya. Those cars can make some good power especially modded. It would take a couple more bolt ons to hold up with him, but you never know, he might not be able to drive it. Plus its AWD and turbo'd.

these things run 14.5 area stock, all hes got is an intake and exhaust. turbo lag on the non sti wrx's is terrible, makes the cobalt ss and srt4 faster than them. im positive i could compete with either of those 2 cars, im just worried about the all wheel drive. i have intake, exhaust and tune, not to mention i will have longtube headers installed by then.

If he doesn't know how to drive the allwheel drive can be hurtful. because when the turbo lag and turning all 4 wheels will bog it down. now if he knows how to drive he can keep the boost up and out of that problem.
So ya have a couple more bolt ons that i thought, its hard to say but it will be close i think. It would be an interesting race to watch. The non sti came with around 250hp right? I drove one a while back at my work and it was not as quick as i thought it would be, dont see what all the hype is about them.

last time i raced him was in hondas, and he shoulda smoked me by a mile but only had me by half a length. now were both alot faster
