Default Black chrome FR500 wheels

Has anyone heard of any problems with the finish on the black chrome FR500 wheels?

I had seen them on AmericanMuscle.com and was going to order them for my 2007 GT until they took them off their website. I called American Muscle to ask if they are going to re-stock the wheels and was told that they had a problem with the finish and are no longer selling the black chrome version. They did not go into any further detail. They are still for sale on other websites though.

I dunno about other brands but I have heard of their coatings coming off on occasion but usually only after using the wrong chemicals on them. I was looking at the same wheels but think I'd go with a powder coated version

I got the painted black spokes, but didn't do enough home work. My new wheels have 30mm backspacing, which puts them out about 9/16" further than stock. I'm starting to like the look, and most of my friends don't even notice. The factory wheels are 45mm, so if you can find 40mm it will keep the tires further inside the wheel lips. Hope this makes sense. These are the coolest looking wheels if you ask me. By the way, Porsche sells 10mm wheel spacers for $400-plus that move a 911's wheels out to the wheel lips, and lots of guys like the look. Go figure. Good luck.
