2002 mustang boot cover problem

Hi! I recently purchased a 2002 mustang convertible. The boot cover has two snaps, but when I tried to put it on it didn't sit right on the car. It looked like it would fly off when the car was driven, so I left it off. Can anyone help me with this. Thank you!

Are you talking about the soft cover or the "hard" cover?

The hard cover is made out of vinyl covering a stiff hardboard with some padding on the bottom. The soft cover is just that, no hardboard, just a fabric skin.
