I was very unhappy with the runs i made tonight .. between the heat and my car just being slow.. I need to buy that damn supercharger.. im soo frustrated..
This last one was my favorite.. It was a Firebird about 2000 body style.. It said "Formula" on the sides and rear.. he had Drag radials on.. (It was auto).. He left before me, i walked him down the track and won.. Ford Vs Chevy haha..I doubt it was a real formula i assume i woulda got raped.. anyhow, i just loved how i passed him before the end
Im pretty bummed how i ran, i guess heat played a good role in it, b/c i didnt even beat my 13.7 at all.. i tried cracking into 13.6-13.5's but had no luck at all.. The worst part was, that when i hit my 13.7 flat last time, i had full tank of gas, and spare tire..
This time, i had half tank, no spare and i ran slower!!! ... I also realized on the way home.. i am 1100 miles over due on my oil change..(doing it 2morrow). That and my intake is ALL Black.. I need to clean that and do my oil change, is that possible to hurt my times the slightest bit?
Guys what should i do?? I want better performance.

dirty CAI filter didn't help your times, but major factor right now would be heat and humidity.
Nice run against the Formula though

Thanks for the encouragement.. It just really pisses me off.. EVERYONE of my friends cars runs 12s-11.4's.. and im sluggish .. lol.. whats even more s**** is that my friends little Honda Civic Del Sol has a fully built motor.. the motors being put in this week.. then turbo comes in about 2 weeks.. itll be pushing 450hp to the wheels.. if he gets traction itll be sick.. but i cant let a damn honda win lol jk..
I am just fed up on not improving my times.. I think this is the best time this damn car can do.. almost just want to sell it for something factory turboed or s/c'ed..
04 Kenne Bell GT, see thats the thing.. That supercharger IS TAKING TOO long, plus with the economy and the family situation i cant touch the cash when i do get it, unless everythings all settled.. incase the family needs the cash more then i do.. I just want to have fun and do my biggest hobby. It just gets old when your damn mustang gt is automatic and has an intake/tune.. its not thrilling at all .. ahh
I was smirking the whole time when i pulled the firebird.. he musta felt like crap.. he had fricken DR's and left on me.. lol
Yeah kenneth, the heat and humidity fricken blows down here.. my car couldnt cool down between runs, it was pointless to even try.. I left the hood open for a bit, but nothing really cooled down when its this hot out..

spent a little too much money on looks and not enough on performance thats what steered me to the bullitt when i bought my new one i checked out the gt/cs all plastic no extra performance but the bullitt all muscle no plastic its amazing i have won awards at shows over gt500s just because of mine being sleek tell you one big gain that i have noticed over stock gt's get rid of your 3.55 and go for a 3.73 or 4.10 i got the 3.73 in mine and i love it alot of pickup and you can still hit 180

See thats the thing, i did looks for one main reason.. My father not letting me because warranty.. He was real uptight about it when i first bought the car.. i had no choice i wasnt able to mod it performance wise..
What is holding me back is my gears as well, one thing you got wrong is the stock ones arent 3.55's.. i have 3.31's.. even f**king worse lol.. Yeah thats another reason why my car sucks in the 1/4.. Im only 19, so the bullitt would have been out of my league.. ive gotta pay for the car and everything so id never be able to pay for that car..
If i was older, i would want that bullitt.. It is a great buy, you get some good stuff..

You definetly need to start taking time in between runs to cool the car. You'd be amazed at what it will do for your times! By the number of passes you made and your statement it almost looks like you hot lapped the car!
When I go to the track I might make 3 passes all night! I don't go till everything is right!
If the track has power I always bring one or two fans to put on the motor between runs. If the track doesn't have power (electrical outlets available) I bring a small generator.
I put a bag of ice on the blower (in your case a bag on the intake). I ice the intercooler. Heck, I go through 8 bags of ice a night!
I check tire pressure before every run!
I use the time while my car is cooling to watch other cars. I see what the faster cars are doing. Are doing a longer burnout, putting more heat in the tires? Where are they hooking up, make sure I know where the groove is at. I watch which lane is producing the best times, which one is hooking up the best.
Remember that getting good times is more then just driving the car well, it also means you need to prep the car well!
The biggest thing is that if you don't cool the car down good you never really see your best times! The first pass is always a little sketchy, like your nocking the rust off a little. The next pass you might have your game on but the car is so heat soaked it doesn't show. Then frustration sets in and you start to change things that don't need to be changed. I've been down that road myself!

Probably have similar temps/humidity here in south Louisiana. It was getting so hot and uncomfortable that we've not been back to the track in almost 2 months. Just consider this time as off-season. We always let car and driver cool down for at least 20-30 minutes between runs and maybe that's no long enough?

I usually go about an hour to an hour an half between runs. I also use an Ice vest in the car during the day at the track. It's used under Nomex in refineries to keep workers cool. Helps me a lot!

I would change your gear and throw a zex kit on it.When you decide on a supercharger, sell the nitrous kit.You will be more than happy .
Why sell the nitrous...just build the motor and spray the blower later!!
