I just installed the FRPP 4.10s and i installed the Roush rear springs. i just picked up my car and finished the first heat cycle. will do the second heat cycle in a bit.
just wanted to ask you guys is there anything apart from the heat cycles that i should be aware of???? i'm stay below 70mph for a couple of days then i'll start pushing it. As for the whining, i only get it when decelarating through 60mph down to 30mph! its acceptable but i think when i change to royal purple it will whine less?! i think?? apart from that it's perfect!
The Roush rear springs levelled the car perfectly (i'll post pics soon) but i am worried about them settling in and droping another 1/16"!!!!
now its time to save for the blower!!
Had my gears done last month and was told not to use synthetic and put an easy 500 miles on for breakin. High speeds were ok, just not to accelerate quickly.

What gear lube is in there now? I've found that my gears are quieter with conventional gear oil.
Yes my gears are being done again this week, switching over to conventional as the synthetic is too thin. How about dumping some wheel bearing grease in there to quiet them down? I believe that's how my dealer got my 3:31's to quiet down.

i drove my car to work today, did the second break in last night! i might be paranoid but i think it's a tad louder than i thought!! maybe i was too excited when i took my car, i didn't give much notice then!! well i have yet to see how this thing launches now, it better be good!!! LOL!!! i'll go easy today too, i'll try a hard launch probably tommorow
oh by the way do i need a remap for the tune?? i know i can adjust the gear ratio for the speedometer but would a remap from brenspeed utilize the gears more?

to be honest with ya STL, i have no idea! the mechanic told me he got everything from the dealer! i'm no expert when it comes to mechanics!! so i didn't even bother to ask!!! i'll check and get back to you on that one.

I would think that would be kind of like putting sawdust in a transmission.
Good choice on the 4:10s - got mine about a month back and love mine. And if installed properly, they do not make noise.
Why would you change the royal purple??? Would you have changed it if you had not swapped the gears? Did you shop tell you to do this?

no he did not tell me to do this but i thought since royal purple is the best out there then it might reduce noise!!!
i just did a couple of hard launches and on the first one shiftin from 2nd to third was very strong! it kinda scared me! on the second launch all is good. some wheel spin not too much, i guess my tires are have good traction!! i'll try to race one of my friends to tell you guys how much i gained

Congrats on the gears...Great mod Those springs should help with the launches as well.

oh yeah the springs have improved the car's handling, not too much but it did help a bit. they are firmer throuhg bumps but the ride is still comfortable
Yes, you need to re-tune your comp with your tune to compensate for the different gear ratio. Your speedo is probably about 8mph off

i know the speedometer is off and i did change it on the program. my question was should i ask brenspeed for a retune to utilize max performance out of the gears? i have never heard anyone saying they did re-map! but i also never heard anyone saying you dont have to!

The only thing you need to do is adjust for the speedo. Has no effect on performance.
