2006 GT Vert Prem. Tungsten Gray, 18"s, Auto (It's really better), Roush suspension, BBK, Brenspeed SCT2, Polished Pypes, and some other stuff that I have already forgotten.
It sounds great so far. I'm in favor of OD button on the handle, gate or ratchet, either one is ok by me, thumb or trigger is also OK by me. I would prefer brushed stainless steel finish. Put me in line.
Just talked to Patrick at TCI and its shipping now. You can contact him to order at 1-888-776-9824 ext 339
Wee Haa.................!

Problem with TCI is they have a release date of Dec 2009 on Jeg's website. We have been waiting for how long on them? I am giving up on TCI.
I don't know if Cheetah does chrome or brushed. They use some type of poly fiber to make the shifter over the metal mechanics. They look a lot like the stock shifter. When I call back, I will ask about the brushed shifters. Maybe they can design it like a Hurst. a threaded end and you can put a ball or a T handle on it? But the button would be in the base then. But then the nitrous guys can use the T handle with the button for that. That would negate the button controls for the shifting though.
There is also another player on the scene, maybe. But that is on a need to know basis. Keep your fingers crossed.
TCI has already shipped so the wait is over.
Install appears to be breeze. I have had mine apart for viewing and its pretty simple, a cable and some bolts and your done.
Price is $459

I am afraid to pull my trans apart to be honest. If its not too much trouble, some pics along with the install might help me out big time
You never touch the tranny. Open up the console and swap out the shifter, adjust the cable and bingo its play time.
Changing the shifter is easy.

an install thread with pics would be sick man, good luck going d.i.y.
the TCI sounds a bit pricey for my budget but i'm interested in seeing what people think of both that and the Cheetah kit... i'm mostly just happy TCI is shipping finally!!!

Okay, I have been busy in the past couple of weeks. The following update should bring us all up to date.
Spoke to the owner of Turbo Action last week. He is moving forward and was discussing the purchase of a transmission from a junk yard. I may drive down to Jax so he can see my car in person and that way he can see it in the car. Always better to see the whole package if you can. I also sent him my Service Manual DVD so he can get the pin-outs and lay-out of the shift cable.
I feel a road trip coming on... But I better call and make sure they have a lift and some 2x4's. Got a 2" drop on my car with low profile tires which make it hard to get the lift's arms under my car.
His comments were also about how cheap and plastic the shifter is. I think the Cheatah Shifter will be a nice compromise between the plastic and the metal. I have never driven a car with a Cheatah other than around the pits.
* I need to call the "other player on the scene" back to see if their meeting with management sounded promising. I doubt they are going to do anything this late in the game on a platform that is about to be replaced. But who knows?
And there is a development in the Shaker replacement speakers in the works as well. Will post that as it develops on the appropriate thread. I am working with a manufacturer for some direct replacement speakers, I hope. No modification to the doors or the enclosure is the goal. Maybe even a 'bridging' option built in? We will see. (This is just getting started up) <------- Yeah I know. LOTS of speaker threads already.
I'm in when a great looking one comes out. The TCI does not look that great with the TCI stamped on it. If TCI made a really cool one, they would not need to stamp TCI on it. People would know who made it.
