Thats exactly my point, with wiring that small you're not getting but maybe 25% of its total peak potential. On top of which, pushing that much amperage through such a small gauge wire (for the application anyway) can create heat in the wire and the possibility of a fire.

Of course there's more than one.. Power, ground, remote, RCA's (signal).

We're only talking about the power and ground wires in this case. Its kind of funny that you've got 4 amps running a single sub. It's pretty common to run several subs off a single amp, but fairly uncommon to run a single speaker off several amps.

I still laugh when I think 10,000 watts... I still can't get used to everyone referring to peak wattage.

+1 on the pictures. I'd like to see exactly what you're running under there, if you don't mind.

17,000 watts peak? So you're saying that those 10,000 watts you were talking about were RMS watts?

Either you spent a ton of money on that system or someone is pulling your chain. You're not going to yank 10,000 watts RMS out of 2 batteries and no capacitor.

Do you have any model numbers on your amps and sub?

Sorry I couldn't help but do a bit of research for you.

The T3 TSS Series subwoofers are rated for 1,000 watts RMS and 2,000 watts Peak, as stated on their website.

Whoever told you that you're pushing 10,000 watts RMS kind of overdid it.

Here's the T3 Audio website...
T3 Audio TSS Series Subwoofer - Sub, Speaker, Woofer, 10 inch, 12 inch, 15 inch, 2000 watt, competition

Sorry, my mistake.

Even so, that sub is only rated for 4000 watts RMS. Pushing 10,000 through it is probably going to eat the coil alive.

Might want to consider finding out whats really going on with it instead of listening to your shop that installed it. Especially if you spent a lot of money on it.

Some shops will install something like that because they know it'll work for awhile and that when it breaks you'll be back to buy another one.

BTW, some pics would be cool, I haven't seen a 15" in the back of an s197 yet.
