Just remember new parts are not always good parts ether, I got a bad holley, accel electronic ignition, distributer, and ford racing 9mm plug wires right out of the box. All at the same time, talk about a hard time starting a fresh motor. If there used they might have just been tested for you, use your judgment.

I think that used mods can be okay, but I agree with the majority here - it depends on the mod. Cold air, mufflers, pipes, etc. should be okay. But no way would I buy used gears or electronics. Eep.

Well the guy responded
first thing he made sure of was that there was no intake manifold provided with this system, it was removed from a V6 that he bought in an auction for his used car dealership. Says the turbo was rebuilt, and everything else looks new. Car only had 24K miles on it, so I figure worst case, I'm buying 24K mile piping.
Says he's been in drag racing a very long time, and only ever used nitrous, but now he wants to switch to turbos.
His buddy with "one of the fastest twin turbo supras around" said it was a good kit and was worth over $5,000
Questions left un answered:
Size of the intercooler
any estimate of dyno #'s
how the piping will work to fit around a V8 instead of the V6
how the turbo system connects to the exhaust pipes.

If only good kits would fall into hands that would sell them for $2,000 : /

Buying used has been good to me and bad.

It's all about how much you're willing to risk versus the amount of cash you'll be saving on a case-by-case basis.

BTW, I've got some used parts for sale.

IMO use a little common sense. Remember PT Barnum said it best........"There's a sucker born every minute". I've puchase 75% of the mods online used. Usually from the clubs, forums I frequent the most. I generally will look at post counts, methods of contact, location, and feedback. I'll also LIMIT what I spend. Oh I also try to talk to others they have done buis with. 9 out 10 times things go well, the 1 time it don't has a tendancy to make things get ugly. Flea-Bay I don't even waste my time with. JMO
