just go to your ford dealer look around and talk to them, they are desperate to sell cars and they will probably sell you one for the cost of a base gt
I just left a So Cal Ford Dealer... and I've been to another, both have GT /CS in stock, 2008's...
A vista Blue w/ Nav, 3.55 rear end, heated seats, security system, ambient, etc.... quoted 24,300 ,,, OTD = 27,100.
A different dealer has a white w/ Nav, no 3.55 gears and no heated seats,,, it has Sirius,, but I hate the satellite antenna, because in twenty years Sirius will be long gone and that damn hole will still be in my deck lid.... I really like the white,,, They quoted me 23,250 and OTD At 25,990.
So the white on is about $1100 less, but it doesn't have a hole in the deck lid.... and has about $1000 more options...
Funny thing, the base price is $240 more on the blue than the white,,, the white was build 11/07 and the blue 02/08...
I read in the LA Times today that the Feds will give sales tax credit for new cars purchased in 2009 after 02-17..... so there is another bonus....
Does the satellite antenna hole in the truck bother anyone else?
i got my gt/cs for $35 and change so i guess its a good price try differnt dealers and talk them down. i suggest u build one i wish i had but what i got is what i wanted in a mustang.
I think you should be able to buy any ford, or any new car right now for invoice pricing -minus any cash available from Ford. I just bought a 2009 GT on the X-plan, which is about $100 lower than dealer invoice pricing. When I got home and looked at the paperwork, I noticed that the copy of the build sheet they gave me showed $946 in dealer holdback on the car, and their might have been a 1 in front of that number. This means the dealer made money on the sale, even at Xplan pricing with the cash back from Ford. The GT I bought had an MSRP of 32,210, my price was in the low 28K range. I managed to dig into the dealer profit a little by getting slightly more than the trade in value on the car I was handing in as well. Car sales are way off right now, use that to your advantage. Know what the invoice price is on the actual vehicle you want to buy, and stand firm. Right now, you should be able to get it at that price, minus the cash from Ford. Show up at the dealer with the real numbers for the car you want. If they push back, tell them and be willing to move onto a new dealer. The first dealership I went to undervalued my trade by $1k, and didn't want to move. The next dealership negotiated without any trouble. Day after I bought my new GT, the first dealer called to offer the car on the terms I'd been pushing for. I was happy to tell them no deal - I already bought a GT. The car I bought was actually a better deal.
IM me if you want X-plan pricing on a specific car, I can look it up for you. It'll be a little lower than invoice, which is what you should shoot for.
Have you thought about buying a Bullitt. For just three grand over a GT Premium you get alot of car that can hang with the Challenger SRT8 right out of the box. (see attachments) The Bullitt was bascically the "test-mule" for the 2010 GT's. Ford put alot of thought and engineering into the '08 & '09 Bullitt's and once their gone...their gone. Stock Bullitt's come with the GT500 differential with 3.73 gears (scroll down about 2/3's the way in this post concerning putting 4:10 gears in the Bullitt...you have to order parts using the GT500 differential rear end part numbers) Need (Factual) info on 4:10 gears (Installed) & Running, NEW Info for IMBOC Members ! - Page 3 - IMBOC
Ford also did some direct motor modifications...one mentioned by Paul Randle. Ford's chief engineer. Is a heavier crank dampener that allows the Bullitt to increase it's redline over a stock GT. Check the man in his own words 2 minutes into the Edmund's review...
You also get, for your 3 grand...Upgraded and Bullitt specfic exhaust, suspension, brakes (performance front pads with painted calibers all the way around). A Ford Racing CAI with factory performance tune. Strut tower brace. Bullitt specific paint, machine turned dash, GT 500 front seats and steering wheel. Alum interior dress up treatments includes shift, brake & gas pedals, shift knob & bezel, radio knobs, BFG KDW 18 performance tires all in a limited production car that will never be produced again. BTW I blew away a CS about three weeks ago, not bragging, it just happened.
I don't know why Ford chose not to really tout the Bullitt that much with all it's enhancements but if your considering buying a new Mustang and you can shift (no auto Bullitt's) and you don't mind green or black, than you would be very wise to at least take one out for a test drive. Just my two cents ...but hey, I'm prejudice...

Oh and BTW At a huge new car model review held in Texas the professional "car-guys" named the Bullitt for the coolest of the cool. Check out this previous post here at AFM's http://www.allfordmustangs.com/forum...-ties-z06.html
