Hi, I just bought a used 2005 V6 convertible. It's in very good condition, however the "brushed aluminum" steering wheel trim has some tiny dents in it. This trim seems soft.
Has anyone replaced this trim? Have you come acroos an aftermaket solution? It feels like it might pry off and stick new trim on, but I don't want t try it and find out I'm wrong.
I'm not interested in a "stick on top" solution as I've never seen one that didn't look like a stick on top. I'd rather remove and replace if possible.
Welcome to AFM and the best forums you might want to keep a check at some junk yards. probabaly have to replace the wheel. i just have a basic car and it has a all black wheel which i like just fine. my g/f 06 has the metal like you have. these are pricy from moss muscle, but you can look for free Moss Mustang Store - Parts and Accessories for your Ford Mustang

The Moss wheel Might be a solution, except the only color that would match my car would be the Piano black and I don't think that would be to good in the Florida sun. Also, I think it would cost a fortune to have it installed.
Thanks for the idea though, I might end up trying it If I can't find another solution. Maybe I shoud just live with the little marks, they're not that bad.
Thanks, I think your right on the inserts, they might be exactly what I was hoping for.
I'll have to give them a call and ask how you install them. I suspect you pry the old ones off and stick the new ones on, but it doesn't say. It's weird they show some colors, like brushed aluminum, (which I think would look original) but they don't list them for purchase.
