Hey guys, I got the mustang back out of storage yesterday and have a roush hood scoop waiting to get installed on it. To be completely honest I didn't realize holes had to be drilled in the hood and screws were used to hold it on along with the 3m tape. I was under the impression it was just 3m tape, obviously i was wrong or didn't research enough. Anyway, that brings me to the question should I have a ford body shop do it or my local body shop? I know that when ford dealers install some roush stuff it is warrantied through the dealer, I believe they do that with the roush superchargers on the v8's. Does anyone know if they would not void my warranty on the hood if they installed the scoop since it is a roush part? I haven't personally used this local body shop in the area but my dad talks very highly of their work so if there is no advantage to going through the dealer I will probably go to the local shop, give them some business with times being tough around here too . Hopefully that all makes sense, thanks in advance for the help again guys!

i just installed my roush scoop a week or so ago and did a write up. i did it in the driveway, took about a hour or so, but i allready had the hood blanket out. i hope this link works. http://www.allfordmustangs.com/forum...all-part1.html

i`m sure it would void your warenty on your hood. but really, how much can go wrong with the hood. i would way rather have the scoop than the warenty on the hood

If you want to stay away from drilling, the 3D Carbon hood scoop just applies with 3M tape and looks similar. However i want a bolt holding the hood down if i am going to be driving at highway speeds
Yeah I've already got the roush hood scoop, bought it christmas eve i think, amazon had it 100 bucks cheaper than everyone else painted so I jumped on it.

The way the hood moves around in the wind I think a bolt on is better.

My scoop is just taped on, and I've never had a problem with it. Just be thorough on your installation.

that write up i did was pretty vague. i didnt include all the instructions that come with it, i`m asuming you have those. if you dont,pm me. the most important part is lining the pattern up on the hood. measure from each side of the hood for center line and make sure its laying flat on the hood. plan on half a day and taking your time, being carefull not to scratch your hood, and its a easy install.
