I have an 05 GT with SLP loudmouth axle back exhaust. My question is if the SLP PowerFlo-X Crossover Pipe with cats would add that much of a difference with horsepower/sound for the money, and also even though it has cats, would it be emissions legal in NJ? Would it void my warranty?
05 GT: SLP loudmouths, Pypes offroad H pipe, Pypes High Flow Cats, Sony PS2 in the dash hooked up to Sony DVD player, Hood pins, 8" Shorty antenna, 3rd break light "Mustang" decal Sound System: two 10" Infinity Kappa Perfect's, two .5" Kicker Tweeters, Rockford Fosgate Amp
With a tune, you may notice a small power increase. Nothing drastic. With the highflow cats, you'll also notice an increase in sound and the x-pipe will make a higher pitched, raspier sound than the factory H-pipe. If you plan to add longtubes later, I might would wait as the new X-pipe will be too long cause it's made to reach the factory manifolds. You should be fine on the warranty and emissions issues. And if it were me, I would get a C&L or JLT intake and a tune. Much more noticeable power increase.
i live in jersey too. i think u might have a problem with that x pipe because the cats are relocated in another place rather than stock. i bought MagnaFlow Performance Exhaust becuase it retains the stock look and i should in theory pass a visual exam.
i think ill just get the AIRAID intake without the tune for now, for the sound, then later add mid pipes and tune....
what do u guys think

as long as you have cats its fine. you will most likely pass. every car needs cat in order to pass. and as of HP, no you wont see a difference. if you do prob. only like 5. But as of sound, youll ntice a huge difference.

Sure...You say this now, after i go through a couple sets.
Geez Vinny it only took me one set. The problem isn't the cats, it's their size and the fact that the X makes them hang too darned low. I hit them on everything until they eventually came apart. Almost cost me my engine.
