Agree on the gears, just upgraded to the 3.73 from 3.31...big difference! I'm considering LT headers as my next mod.

i got my frp 410 gears at am you get a discount if member here.just dont buy the install kit they offer it is motive and dont come with the barrings or some of the right stuff you need luckly my guy had spare shims and sleves or whatever was not right in that kit.i wasted that 40 dollars.and the worst part of a gear job is the boring long long 500 miles brake in i have 300 more top go before i change the oil and can really see if i like what i paid 600 dollars for did i say long boring 500miles.
I'd stick with Ford Racing gears. They're usually your best bet.
yes the FRPP gears are the way to go. But like a always say about gears, watch where you purchase them from.
Alot of guys sell the FRPP gears but there are 2 diff kinds. There are Italian made ones and USA made ones.
Go with the USA made ones. Your prob asking yourself, how do you know which are which. Well, the italian ones are Chrome and on the box theres a barcode sticker where it say Made In ____. If it says USA your alrite but if it says Italy then return the gears. The USA ones are not chrome.
Also, the Italian made ones will give you a horrible Whinning noise. I found this out b/c, when i brought my gears for the install, my installer told me all about this b/c i had the Italian made ones. So he got me the USA ones. Another thing is, your installer will have alot of trouble installing the Italian made ones.

good info, this i did NOT know.. I will have to check my FRPP 3.73s, they are sitting at my cousins house waiting for the rest of my money to install it..
Man on another forum im on, they said with my 06 Automatic GT, NOT to get 3.73s, it will be a waste go 4.10s.. They claim 3.73 will NOT be a good improvement from my stock 3.31s..

i would think you would see an inprovement but just not as much.just depends on what you use your car for.i just installed 4.10 on my dd 06 dd gt.and for the most part i like them it not great on the highway to high rpms but in the city under 60 mph great and my gas milage is better.but if i run down the highway for long periods of time at 80+ mph i can see my gas go bye bye.i would have not went thru all the trouble and money myself if i was not going to go with atleast 3.90 or 4.10s it not that tramatic of a change as people make out just basically makes it pull harder have a little more get up and goits not that big of a deal.but just rember if you do a lot of highway driving dont do it.
This is what I did I put UDP,CAI,84mm MAF,TB,functional ram air,headers,Hi-flow,cats with X-pipe,alum. flywheel/dual clutch,390 gears(5spd),and most important a good custom (dyno)tune .
that got my '06 GT to just over 300HP at the wheels
hey mustangrey i think with those mods you will be higher than that on hp.well i guese it depends on if the heeaders are long tube or not if they are i would think with a dyno tune you should be close to 320 hp.i have not dynoed mine yet but my friend and i have the same mods and both autos and his dynoed at 295 hp to the wheels.his and mine are a 06 gt auto with cai.bama 93 race tune, and 410 gears.he had it dynoed before the gears so it would be a little less now.
