Default Rusty antenna base?

Today it was nice out so I decided to clean my 08 Convertible. I get around the passenger side of the car and notice that my shorty antenna is loose. I go to tighten it up,and it won't tighten, just keeps turning. I take the antenna out,and look at the base of the antenna, and its all rusty. Anyone else ever have this problem? No idea what I can to so I can put my antenna back on. I do not listen to much radio, have most of my music on my iPhone. Just looks bad without it on.

my friend works at a shop and i was talking to them about when they paint the hood. apparently they told me theyd blend into the fenders when they paint my aftermarket hood (who knows how far down the line this is) but he said if i wanted since theyd be blending anyway he could smooth it out and make it look like it was never there. so just buy a hood and have em do that its killing two birds with one stone

Sorry to hear about the rust!! I would probably just get it taken care of like a few others here and truly delete it...
