Default 2005 saleen mustang, I want 700 horses

I recently purchased a 2005 saleen mustang S281 with 5500 miles on it. It has a 4.6L 3 valve V8 with a stock turbo charger. The guy I bought it from said it Dynoed at 435 rwph. So far the only work I've done to it is buying a new set of rear tires that were slightly wider, going from 275s to 295s. I want to do some work to it, but I'm not really sure how to approach this in the best most cost effective/best quality way. Honestly I'm not even sure where to begin. Anyways, I had two thoughts on how to build this beast up.

1) Buy the largest supercharger I can put on this engine. I was thinking possibly the street shaker super charger and buy the largest pully that will fit on that supercharger. (I"m looking for one that will support 700 horses) After that I'm sure I'll need to buy some new internals that can handle that much horsepower so I'm planning on buying a new cam, pistons, exaust, headers, fuel injectors, and anything else that I'll need to replace. I'm looking for some information on the best parts to order, and what all I'd need for this. Any links/information on parts or places to buy these things would be great.

2) Buy a whole new engine for my car. I'm only at a 4.6L right now, but I was wondering what the largest sized engine I could fit in my car. Depending on prices and how much I decide I'd like to put into this car, I might just buy a whole new big block engine and a beast of a turbocharger with it(I actully am more of a fan of turbos than superchargers) So I guess if anyone has any information on engines I could buy for this car and turbo chargers(Is it possible to just add a turbo to my supercharged engine already?) I'm really completely unsure of everything that I'd need if I go in this direction so maybe a list of parts/links where to buy it/whatever would be awesome.

Finally I also plan on buying a new 6 speed transmission(currently running a 5 speed but I dont think it'll handle 700+hp), a performance clutch, new suspension(my tires rub sometimes when I hit big bumps/rr trackes going over 35), rear gears, a programmer for my car's chip to adjust air fuel mixture.

So ya I'm pretty unsure of how to do this or where to begin so any advice I could get here would be awesome. I'd like to know which choice you think would be the most cost effective and last me the longest, and also what parts i'm going to need and some places to purchase high quality parts for my car. Thanks a lot guys, and I'll try to post a few pictures of my car after the work gets done.

All I can say is... Read up. Your car doesn't have a turbo right now. Its a supercharger.

It can be done but isn't going to be an inexpensive proposition. Engine would need to be forged for sure or get a replacement forged long block.

There are a myriad of supporting parts you'll need to buy to prep the car for that kind of power as well. When building that kind of power, aside from the engine, you'll want to think about suspensioin and braking... stronger induction elements, etc.

Just search around the site here and gather as much info as you can. You'll want to do it right the first time so you won't have to blow the bank a couple of times.

As everyone has said it can be done but it ain't cheap.

If your car has a turbo on it then it's not stock. Saleen cars don't use a turbo, they use a Saleen S/C.

I say you should try to fit a 545 big block in there. And then look at twin turbo. That should do the trick once the motor is built.

fordracing.com sells a 521 big block that makes 609hp so im sure with a supercharger or turbo youll be able to make 700+hp

the motor runs for only 9,950

For one thing, you don't need a big block to approach 700+hp. Your definetly going to have to pull the motor for starters, then replace your internals with forged internals make sure you use ARP fasteners when putting it back together. As far as your big pulley, NOT on the supercharger, on the crank smaller pulley on the supercharger. ARP studs, to hold your heads down in place. The studs will help prevent, the heads from lifting off the block under boost. Your boost is going to be, in the 22lb. range. The heads Trick Flow Twisted Wedge, then the cams and make sure they're a blower cam. Cost effective, it won't be the more power you want to make the more it cost that is if you want it to hold together. As far as the supercharger, talk to the guys at Kenne Bell about the new Mamoth supercharger and what intake and throttle body to use. The rest is in the tune, and with everything here should put you in the 800hp range. Tuned right, can still be very streetable, Mike. SCT Tuner. Good Luck!

I thought I edited turbochager to supercharger when I wrote the post but I guess it didnt save. It was 4am and i was falling asleep typing Anyways, my car is supercharged right now.

I really like the idea of forging all of the internals and buying a beast of a supercharger. As long as i'll be able to run the thing at very high boost without blowing it up, i'll be happy.

As far as buying a whole new engine, I think putting a 545 big block or w/e size was said, would be completely sick, I just think after buying the turbo and getting the rest of the car to run good and hook up with that much hp is just going to get to expensive. Maybe in a few years I'll try that with a new car. I'll look into that huge supercharger that was mentioned.

thanks for the help.

for the money you'd spend on a 4.6 just get a 5.4 and a tune and CAI with net 110 hp right off the bat. Then your only 100 horse off your mark.

I would just talk to the guys at Livernois and see what they say. and also PM PLstang. He has a 5.4 GT500 motor putting out 700+at the wheels.

Deep Deep pockets.

4.6 MMR block stroked out to 5.0 .

Then a Kenne Bell Blower with the smallest pulley you can get for it.

Upgrade transmission

suspension should be fine since its a saleen

60 or 120lb injectors with twin GT500 pumps and a KB BAP
