Tons of thanx everyone for the honest opinions, again, why I love this site. I'm beginning to think that I just might have to chalk this one up to a $115 "learn the hard way" mod. It was tough when I was thinking of getting them cuz I couldn't find ANY pics of anyone elses rides with them on. Oh well, and the modding continues.....
Hey, it happens to EVERYONE!
You could probably get some of that $$$ back on Ebay to some other unsuspecting victim...
It may look better if the car was a light color but the Black on Silver is too great of a contrast, also, the Aluminum on the fuel door and on the window covers do not match. I say NAY but you could leave it and it still looks kool.

Wow shiny....
It's your car, but if it was me and I was on the fence, I'd leave them just how they are for a couple of weeks, and you should have a way better idea of what YOU think of them then. If you still don't like them then you could still paint them while they're on the car, and if it's still a no go some floss or fishing line and a good blow dryer will chew through that 3M tape like Mark suggested.
Wow, that's pretty good digitalcos! You might be on to something there, and ur right, I could probably just mask it off and do it that way. My only concern is the paint chipping or getting scratched on the covers, any suggestions on what kind of paint to use on aluminum??? Honestly ALL of you guys have been a great help with this!!

Don't give up yet. Maybe there's another way you can stick with your theme. Maybe you just need a better balance.
I tried to get the rivets to pop a bit better in the pic to give you a better idea of how it might look in person.
I doubt you'd have to remove them to get them painted like this.
Personally I like them much better like that. It still has the black and silver theme yet isn't over the top.

That might have been your first clue.... sorry, man. Something to think about before future mods.
I agree with Judi though, if you like them, I love them (it's not for me to judge). Whether or not you dig them is all that matters.

you`d have to use a zinc-oxide primer for aluminum, usually green, like for aluminum outboard motors.ive painted a couple of them and had pretty good luck. but it would be hard to get a good paint edge on that. that car would look tough with black scoops on there( but i really like the louver look myself)
