DO YOU NEED TO RUN A MUFFLER IN NYC?

the reason being is im thinkign about just running a muffler delete (no mufflers or resonators...just straight pipes)...i will still be running my oem cats and in no way changing the oem location..so again do i need a muffler?

Check the state smog laws for NY.

NYS DMV - (Brochure) New York State Vehicle Safety/Emissions Inspection Program for Cars and Light Trucks

If the car is for racing only (track car) maybe you may not need one, but it will be loud. Cool at first but then annoying in the long run.

If the car is a daily driver, I would assume that you must have them on.
