can you explain the whole rpms thing again. I don't quite follow it.
The easiest way to understand gear ratios are on a bicycle.1st gear would be 4.10's and 6th gear or so, would be 3.31's. Take off as fast as you can for 100 feet and see what gear you get there faster with.

Best ET to date- 11.89 @ 114 mph
390 rwhp
520 rwtq
No more Nitrous all motor now.Don't ask.
i have a 06 gt auto and the best mod i have by far is the 410 gears.it feels like you gained 100 hp to the wheels.but if you do a lot of highway driving 80+mph.i would not get them.at 80 mph i am almost at 3k rpm.but i dont do much 80+mph driving for long periods of time.my gas milage is the same as before the gears just for the record.with my 06 gt auto and cai and 93 race tune and 4.10 gears i beat a lot of cars i have no bussiness even racing and they get smoked.without the gears that would not be the case.
dang, i have the same car, year, and mods as you! =p

Wait, you already got gears installed???
I thought you started this thread yesterday?
If you haven't already put the gears in... Think 4.10s over really well. Yeah, they're fast as heck, but if you ever are going to put a supercharger or turbocharger on later, you'll be kicking yourself for putting in 4.10s!
I (sorta) took apart & put back together an '02 V6 Pontiac Firebird's differential (where the gears are) and it wasn't too difficult. If you find a good shop, you can have it done in 4 - 5 hours.

gettin them done at a ford dealership. I know they will be more expensive, but I KNOW they will be done right and if they aren't they will make it right.

i got an estimate of $600.
Damn $600 for install or parts and labor? Either way its more money, but you know its done right.
I was charged $470 for parts and install. They even warrantied my differential. Everything came out perfect.
