Pulled the trigger on an Edelbrock E-Force today - The game is afoot!
So I've been putting back $$$ and going round and round about what mods I should or shouldn't do to the Stang (if any). Well the mod bug finally won out.
I didn't want to drain off too much savings at once so just put down $2K on layaway toward an Edelbrock E-Force supercharger (5# setup) from AMP Performance in Phoenix about two hours ago. I should have the rest paid for in the next couple of months.
Tom Thompson seems to be like a straight up guy to deal with. After beating him up on price some, he quoted me out the door after parts, installation, tax, and some time on the dyno for 6637.08 (6212.49 before Uncle Sam raped my 6-hole for being an Arizona resident)....
So now the waiting begins... just thought I'd share!

Congratulations on the buy. I can not believe you did not go with Stage 3 .
I dunno, I just felt right about dealing with AMP - call it a gut check move. Stage 3 has some good stuff and I may turn to them for some other mods, but for this, I didn't even see it available through them and I felt like the price was right for parts, install, and tune. Plus AMP has been specializing in Mustangs for 19 years and they deal with people all over the country. I'm sure that doesn't happen by accident.
Who knows for sure? Every build is different with it's own unique set of ups and downs.. Maybe I don't even make it out of the parking lot before the damn thing blows to hell!! In the end I hope I won't be let down but for now I feel pretty good about it.

I am sure it will work out just fine. I just thought they were less money at Stage 3.I do not know which set up you went with though. Sounds good with the tuning and all.

I broke down and finally put a SC on my car after staying NA for my whole life. (A long time)...Glad I did it...your going to luv the power. I almost got the Ebrock, but it was very new when I was looking and the one installer I read about was having a problem with his first install. Turned out to be a couple of bad spark plugs that took a while to find. Since then the Ebrock has been making sweet power on every thread I have read that has installed one. Good luck..

Damn you people make me jealous. I was saving to go F/I, but the economy turned and I decided to hold the cash, now I'm dealing with medical issues that may rape all S/C fund before I'm done.
Enjoy it, and let me know what you think. I've been looking at and reading about this unit for a while and am really interested in it.
What happens if the price is lowered before you pay it all off?
I guess that's just the cost of doing business.. But, I'm on pace have it bought in about the next 1-2 months. I also got a fair discount on the unit too so there's a littlebit of cusion in there for me.
What can I say? It's the age old quesion of "What If". What if I die tomorrow, I mean it could happen... Hell for that matter, I might not even make it home to kiss my wife after I leave work today.
If the prices drop then they drop. I'll take it up with AMP then and see if they'll give me a little kickback if it happens and if that gets me nowhere, then I've still got a badass SC coming my way -Live is goooood!!

Cool, that's badass dude. I have a few questions for you since you've already got this badboy installed.
1. Are you running the 5# or the 8.5# setup or some other custom setup.
2. Who tuned it for you and have you had any issues since it was installed?
3. How many miles have you put on the unit so far?
4. Do you have other engine mods and can you post up some dyno #'s?
5. If you've already written a post about this can you shoot me the link so I'll stop asking stupid questions!
Just curious to know more about what I'm getting into here. That's all.
Thanks,

OK #1. Stock airbox, 5#... It's really about 6 something when you hit above 6,000 RPM
#2. I did it myself in my garage, it would have been done in a weekend, but I broke a spark plug, ( I have an 05, so I had to shange the spark plugs ). Mine has the " out-of-the-box" Diablo tune, no other adjustments. I know of one other that had a slight tune to his, and he is pushing over 420 SAE to the rear's.
#3 About 3,000+ miles, I average about 17 in town, thats my 1.5 mile commute to work. 26 on the hiway, not really hitting boost.
#4 The motor is bone stock, I had to remove my UDP's, CAI, and diablo tune before my install. Dyno #'s will be attached.
#5 I just did....
Anyother questions, or pictures, just let me know, I have a bunch of em. If you plan to install this yourself, ( its east ) call me and i'll let you know how to re-pin the connectors.
good Luck
Tim
