Default Whipple Big boost High Output Supercharger Kit

I saved enough for this kit finally.$2099.00 Found one on e-bay from a place called Chicago Parts and Sound. It has a pic and says they have 9 in stock. You can see it by punching in Big boost kit P/N M-9066-M11 E-bay search. Has anyone done business with these guys? Second: I have a automatic will they still give me a procal tune with my auto?Third: They don't sell auto kits because of power and torque(Warranty) not because of fitment problems? I will have to use their tune until I can find a decent tuner up here which could take a while.I have no more warranty's. Any help Please?-Daryl

When I bought my HO 2yrs ago Whipple didn`t have a tune for this kit with an auto trans.I had to get it dyno tuned, but I was planning on doing that anyway.I guess I`m lucky, there is a couple of good tuners in this area.

The manual tune will not work with an auto.

Sorry I don't know how to post a link. Say If I were to use a canned tune from a reputable shop? The guys i am using give me a better tune than the two times I had my car Dynotuned up here.Or I guess I can save up and take a road trip to Washington state Or Alberta. What if I kept the same pulley I have on right now would I be able to drive it? Could I just get the Air/fuel ratio increased? My tune is really mild right now Average 11.1 These guys up here seem to have problems with the three valve. Plus one Dealer that tunes charges about 1000 bucks. They did a Dynotune and my car was detonating when I left the shop so I got my money back.So I guess I should ask Whipple /FRPP if they have a tune for the auto?

IF you scrapped up money to buy a supercharger... you will be broke or sell the car in a year.

I hope I am wrong almost as much as you do...

I don`t believe either has a tune for the HO kit with an auto. You can call Whipple and talk to them, maybe they can help.I`ve talked to Whipple in the past and they have always seemed willing to talk and help. You can try the same with FRPP.

Really what I am after is the Intercooler set up.I really don't need or want big numbers. Yet! I could use a few more RWHP which is what I have been told I can get with the cooler temps? But it seems I must buy the whole kit to get the Resevoir, pump, exchanger etc. So I'm thinking that I can just leave my 6lb pulley on there which is making 9lb at wot anyhow. Safety first. lol

If you install the intercooler on the existing pulley, you will lose boost (1-2 lb).

Since I am running such low Air/fuel numbers(AVG.11.1) would running a mixture around 11.8 intercooled compensate in Rwhp for the lower boost numbers. I am not sure is this called adding timing? Spark? I will be talking to Whipple/Frpp to see about those( AUTO) tunes. I know they have an 8 lb kit for an automatic 05-06 but I think it might be a gen 2 because their advertizing 475 hp. I don't know for sure but I am going to ask. Thx -Daryl

I'm in the process of installing the FRPP HO kit with a 10 psi pulley on my auto. Everything will fit on the car manual or auto. The only difference is the tuning. If you plan to go with a whipple the intercooled is really your best bet. Whipple has a tune for the AUTO good to 12 lbs but Ford does not. Ford wasnt to sure about the trans holding up but now they see otherwise. Call Whipple and ask for Mike. He usually picks up the phone. For the intercooled kit you need to remove the drivers side stock 90mm idler pulley and swap it with the provided 100mm pulley. The kit is very easy to install. Everything is straight foward and all the parts are tagged with item numbers. Call Justin Sharkey @ VMP Tuning if you dont trust the locals. Justin can do remote tuning via SCT live load if you have access to a laptop.
I'm waiting for Justin to send me the IAT sensor so I can relocate it where it needs to be and not in the MAF housing

Thanks for the info. Are you installing the whole kit, blower included? VMP won't do a tune unless I change my sensor over.I guess I will have research why this is so important. I talked to Whipple just now and yes they have a tune to go with the kit. 10 lb pulley intercooler kit is $2599. Thing is they want me to send my my computer to them for reflashing. I don't like that idea.Ford Racing also has the same tune which they will send in a Procal tuner. Which would be okay until I can find a good Dynotune. But If I am going to go with bigger boost it's time to buy a winter beater and put mine away till spring. Hopefully we will have a mild winter.lol Thx.-Daryl

For that much money I would say the Add is Fishy. Whats all included in this KIT? The Whipple HP kits are roughly $6k-$6700 depending on exterior coating. You can find Tuner kits cheaper but are not intercooled or have some of the necessary parts to run this setup.

I may be reading your post wrong but 2k for an HO kit is rediculously CHEAP. Buyer BEWARE.

This is the upgrade from nonintercooled to intercooled with another 100 or so HP.With all hardware/pulley/tune to run the increased boost.

Yes, I installed everything. Just waiting on the sensor from Justin. Its very easy even the GT500 pumps were pretty simple install. I have the Ford Procal tuner for a 05-07 kit for a 10lb pulley which i dont need. I'll be happy to sell it to you for $150. I am getting a dyno tune for my car so i wont need it. The tuner Procal has never been used.
