Great Video and nice car too!

I think my GT would definitely cover that course slightly faster, there were definitely some

places where the extra power would get you better times! But you

carried your speed well into the corners! I saw a little plow in the

corners but that's common for these cars! Well you know it's said

that the race is won in the corners!! It comes down to who can

go deeper into the corner before braking and or sliding off the track

while staying on the APEX of the corner right?

I'd love to run mine through that course! Wish you were here in AZ!

Unfortunately, in the last few weeks I have seen the "sixer hate" on this forum. There is a thread on the 2010 part where someone was asking about the v6 and all sorts of GT owners were saying that a V6 stang is not a real stang and were dumping all sorts of hate on the V6 owners.
The only disrespect I have for any Stang owners are the ones that let their stang slip into the jalopy category.
I have had 2 V8 stangs in the past and my v6 is faster than both of them. I never modded the ones before, but stock for stock, my new one is faster, handles better, is more dependable and gets better fuel economy! I would have loved to be able to save the money to get a V8, but $200 a month for insurance when I first got it, is better than $600 more per month for a V8, and plus I got a heck of a deal for my '06.
I am looking forward to another V8 mustang again sometime in the future, but for now, I love my V6. It's got more than enough power for me when I drive it.
I think that anyone who hates on the new V6 stang has never driven one, or has some sort of superiority complex about them.

Hey, an Altima is faster than my wife's car, but that doesn't mean I want one.
A crown vic has a V8 between the shock towers, but that doesn't mean I want one.
Unless of course it's a Mercury Marauder!

$7200 per year extra for insurance?

Is the car parked on the street in south central with a "keys in ignition" sign?

Nope, just a 23 year old driving a "Sports Car"

Thanks for the input everyone! It does bug me on that forum as locally everyone has a chip on their shoulder and it feels like I'm trying to change the world.!
A little bit of respect for my car as I've made it look so good, The body mods have been exceptionally clean. But the petty remarks that its still a girls car or where is the V8 gets pretty annoying.

I'm an excellent autocrosser and i've put up the challenge that if they can beat my pax time I'll pay for their Event that day (25.00 ) so not a big deal.
If I beat them they reimburse me for the Event. So really if 2 or three come out I could break even or be up some cash! Free tank of gas from the haters!
What is racing the "Haters" supposed to prove again? You seem to have a big chip on your shoulder too. Are you trying to prove your driving ability, or your cars capabilities?

Its more to prove that I have a mustang suited to my driving style.

Not one GT owner on there will step up yet.

The GT guys I have raced in autocross were awesome! an SN95 GT in black. Beautiful car and a White GT with Full steeda Suspension. Again beautiful car and took the driver of the White GT for a ridealong in mine and vise versa.

We discussed between runs the differences in driving style, and what it takes to get each car further and faster through the course and in the end we both picked up time.

I'm okay with the regular petty comments against my car or personality in choosing this car.. but when its time to put your money where your mouth is then these guys need to back it up.

If the V8 is to beat me in a short course and these guys say its going to happen then I want them to support sanctioned racing and bring it to the line.
If I get spanked that bad in autocross (which is my choice for racing) then i'll consider a V8 next year as the 2005's to 07's are now in the price range that I bought my Pony for.

Its a battle that won't end here and i'm not trying to be some world hero. Its just like nails on a chalk board or when your spouse chews you out for something you did kinda feeling when not just the V8 guys start up but import enthusiasts and so on. I have alot of respect for the guys in Civics beating any and every car out there in Autocross. I want my V6 and racing style to be known as being a great rewarding, inexpensive sport car choice for what I use it for..

If you were to place yourself into a GT set up the same way your

Stang is, you don't think you could get around the track faster? I

really do find that very hard to believe! On those long sweeping

corners the V8 will carry more speed faster which will get you to the

next corner quicker! The numbers do not lie when it comes to

torque and hp, the GT carries 60-80 more hp and 80 more ft. lbs or

torque. So how much heavier is the GT's .6 litres, not much! A V6

weighs 3300 and the V8 weighs 3450, a difference of 150 pounds.

Not buying it at all! Take the same driver and place them into each

car and the V8 will be faster, maybe not every time. But I would

say if you raced 10 times the GT would very likely win 7 or 8 times

out of 10 with the same driver!

And hey, this is no knock on the V6 they do very well in the Mustangs!

i`d say you made your point. ive been pissed off at some haters. its not worth it. there will always be the " look at me", " look at what i have" people no matter where you go. for the most part, the people here are pretty cool, and most are here to help everyone out, learn, trade ideas, show off mods ect. i`m 52 with a low income. i got my v6 used, not ashamed to say its all i could afford. i put some mods on it and i`m happy that i even have a mustang again. i got it cause i needed a car to drive. some store em, show em, race em, sunday drive em. i dont really do any kind of racing, its my dd, and i love to drive it. i cant afford to go crazy modding like some others do, and i`m ok with that. i get tons of compliments, and never had anyone say they didnt like my car cause it was a v6. attacking the v8`rs is not the way to resolve the issue of the shallow minded rock on

not sure if this was mention but shelby himself made quite the race car using a v6 mustang named terlingua (you know the mustangs with the jack rabbit) these "terlingua" mustangs where purpose built to mess with ferarri. so v6 have their place me frankly when i went to go buy my first mustang there was no way in hell i would buy a v6 but that is pure personal preference. plus theres nothing like power shifting a v8

now i'll admit to destroying 3.8 mustangs in my granny 97 4.6 tbird sport

the two co-founders of my club both own and drive 2 automatic V6 mustangs. no one rags on them. but there is hate from ppl outside the club. don't worry dude. everyone gets guff from everyone. i get it for having an automatic all the time!. But there is always going to be someone with a faster car, more expensive car, and or a bigger mouth (especially the mouth). Just remember, you actually OWN your car. I get ppl telling me they will rip me apart in their mysterious M3 that they never seem to buy....

well camaro owners will probably be the worst especially as chevy seems to be coming out with a zr1 edition supposedly. this months motor trend also said that the lenginfelter was better then the gt500 supersnake. but what ever mustang look better ...but you basically have to go around with the thought in the back of you're head "there will always be someone bigger faster and better then you"

I was watching Motorweek and they tested an SLP supercharged

Camaro that went 0-60 in 3.6 seconds! Wheeew that's moving!

It was around the 575 hp mark I believe! Camaro is still one ugly

car though!

.....i think they killed they way a camaro is supposed to look. from the original to 2004 they where sleek and small kinda like a corvette now its wide and plain uuugggllly. 3.6 0-60 sounds like fun though

James, This thread sounds just about the same as the auto vs manual argument everyone has a comment and there is no real right answer, we should all just be happy that we have a stang and I know we do for sure
