James, This thread sounds just about the same as the auto vs manual argument everyone has a comment and there is no real right answer, we should all just be happy that we have a stang and I know we do for sure
stang is better then a prius

I'm in WA state, while not in Seattle, I am just north of Everett, which is fairly populated.
The difference here was $155 per year between the GT and V6, going through liberty mutual and I've had mine since I was 35.
When I lived in NYC it was a totally different story, owning anything new, v6 or v8, there was insane, it's why so many get mailboxes or use friends addresses upstate or in long island.
I'm in the SF Bay Area. Not the cheapest for insurance.
My buddy's car was new.
Premiums can depend on how much coverage you get too. If you buy more liability coverage to protect assets like your house and stuff.
He could afford the extra insurance. It's just that he hated the idea of paying that much more per year. He hardly drives at all. He takes the BART subway to work every day.
A bunch of the V6 guys on the Collective have been swapping in V8's lately. No matter what you have, you tend to wonder about getting more.
I kinda thought about a V8 swap. But if I did, I'd want to have a blower on it.
But for that kind of money, I'm starting to think about building a Factory Five Cobra with a blown stroker engine and skipping the Mustang GT altogether.
I'd keep the V6 for a DD, and go super crazy with a FF Cobra
Don't worry about what others think, their opinion is just that. Before I bought my GT I rented a 6 on a business trip and loved it. You can do a lot to any Stang, it just depends on your budget. More then one guy or gal has dropped a bundle in their V8 to the point they could have bought a Shelby or Roush, etc. In fact Shelby offers a couple fast 6's that probably would smoke a GT. Enjoy it, it's yours.
