Did you have to pay above MSRP or did you get hooked up? I don't blame you if you don't want to respond to that question

Traded the ole lady's Mazda for a...'06 GT Coupe - 276.2 HP/289.3 Torque - Stock
Price out the door was $28,995.00. I know of 1 other GT that was sold where I live, NC, and that had a $5000.00 markup on the sticker. I traded my 2003 Mitsubishi EVO and came away with $100 less per month for the payment. As far as the torque goes, until I dyno something I like to stick with conservative estimates. I will say that going from and EVO to a Mustang, I would have expected a huge disappointment in performance, but I am pleasently suprised. Ford got it dead right on the new pony.
Just because a car manufacturer specifies certain specs that does not mean they are dead on or in some cases even close. HP and Torque are not an exact science anyway. Just look at the crazy specs the Mazda RX8 had initially The difference of 5 lbs of ft torque really makes this a moot point anyway.

Cool, where are you at in NC? And which dealer here did you get yours from? I'm curious 'cause I may be close to you. I live down near Ft. Bragg.

I purchased mine @ Leith Ford in Wendell. The $5000.00 markup was @ Crossroads Ford in Cary or Raleigh. None of the dealerships have any idea when they will be receiving anymore GT's. Earliest speculation is Jan. 2005. Ford Corporate had told me 4 weeks ago that the GT's weren't being shipped until early 2005, so you can imagine my excitement when Leith called me and informed me that they had just gotten 1 on the lot.

LOL Dave, I have 2 pics up here and as soon as I have a chance (when not driving) I will post lots of pics of the car. Now for the questions, I have the Shaker 1000 and it is absolutly amazing. Changing the dash colors is as simple as turning the headlights on (this is required to select the dash color from the menu) and cycle through RBG (Red, Blue, Green) values. During my research into this vehicle I had found information stating that Ford has tripled their spending on interiors, hence I would give the interior a 10 in craftsmanship, as for the exterior, well that kinda speaks for itself. :thumbup The car feels solid as a rock, very stable, and is by far the best riding mustang I have ever been in.
