You will not get an allocation order out of Florida for anywhere near the low price you have locked in at home. I wouldn't think you could do any better than MSRP in Florida, and the 05 MSRP keeps creeping up and up. Plus you would have expenses in getting a flight to Florida, gas to drive it back, plus I wonder is that kind of drive home a good way to break in a new vehicle?
I had thought of this also, but...I figure that I have waited this long, I can wait a little longer, I am past frustration, My dealer said if it turns out that way, I should be about the first 06 allocation he gets. ( I am guessing his allocation for the year is about 2 ) Hopefully by the next change over to the 06 model, Ford would have taken care of the bugs and probably a nice price increase. Maybe by the time the snow flies, I will have my mustang to slip and slide all the way to work in. So let it be written, so let it be done. :thumbup

My GT is scheduled to be built this week (week of May 9th). When should I expect to hear something different from the 800# status lady? I just called and it still says as of May 12th your unit is scheduled to be built week of May 9th.

The dealer down the road from me has several GT's on is lot waiting for a buyer. I looked at the stickers today and there is no make up fee on them.
One GT Coupe is White with IUP Red interior and that has been there for several weeks. He also has 2 GT Verts, some V6 Verts, and a nice selection of V6 Coupes. http://www.flammerford.com/pages/pre...year=2005&qs=1
Here is another dealer some 15 miles down from the upper one who also has a few GT's and V6'.
BTW I picked up my vert on 4/22 so I am all set. Funny one is after I picked up mine, all these stangs verts started showing up at all my close dealerships.

Ford obviously has a strange way handling orders and I really feel sorry for people who have been waiting so long on ordered cars. They do however have to provide more for the larger dealers. My local small town dealer sold no 04's and was still given 4 GT's. (2 coupes 2 Verts) He had all 4 sold plus at least 15 others willing to buy cars. The closest large dealer to me had 15 04 's on the lot at one time last year. They must have been allocated many more but still couldn't get me in one.
In my case I was very lucky. I had spoken to a dealer 90 miles away about one they had on the lot that ended up was a different color than I wanted. Apperantly they had no other customer orders or interest for that matter because the same day the Ford rep called and told them they were being allocated another order in the next 4-8 weeks. Dealer called me right back and I immediately took the order.
pcfrish, You have to the end of the week to be guaranteed your car with everything you want on it. Just call Gary Yeomnans Ford in Daytona beach, Fla. I admire your loyalty but , at this point, it will get you an 06 whenever they will make one for you. I have no alliance or deal with Yeomans other than they were remarkably customer oriented and will deliver my car my way in late June or early July. Perf Wht, GT, 5 Spd, Prem, Leather, wheel lcks, 17" bullit whls, Shaker 500. Original order 1/15/05 still C&U - new order 5/5/05 Vin # 5/10/05. Will post build etc. tomorrow. These guys had 914 2005 model year cars and trucks on their website. Guess who gets the mustangs they order? My original dealer still has no clue if or when my order will be or not be built. My current deal is at MSRP which is the same as my 1/15 order. Actually 495 dollars more due to price increase, which, I heard may be up to 2K more for the same car next year (06). Ford is loving the upside premium cause it makes dealers hot to order more. Just some info for your consideration. Robert, the inventory guy is the man !!!
Nope, I have not got the :thumbup or the yet. I have got a lot of
My dealer says I am right on the cusp.
Sorry, maybe I should have been more specific. The phone call I was refferring to was the call from Ford's customer service center - the one that asked you for your phone number.

pcfrisch, I hope this does not offend you, and it is not meant to, but, I just received a Vin # and a build date of 5/30 on the car I ordered 5/5/05 from the dealer in Daytona Beach. I can't believe the difference from my CT dealer. I really hope yours comes through and I only posted this to let everyone know you can still make it happen for an 05. I will stay on the thread to see how it goes. Best regards for a schedule date soon !!!! :thumbup

The guys from Daytona Beach have the inventory and can order your very fast. I should have my in about a week 1/2. Robert the inventory manager is very good and knows what's going on with the process. If you call Carlos Medina the salesman that got my car ordered will get your Mustang as fast as 7 weeks. He will tell you between 8 to 12 weeks but it can be sooner. His number is (386) 274-6700 ext 1585. Very nice people at Gary Yeomans Ford

Heck no it does not offend me, you have been waiting forever also. I am glad yours is on it's way. This Forum has helped me to understand the allocation system better. If I wasn't locked into a descent deal, I would have gone for your suggeston, so now, it is a gamble on my part.
Again, I am glad you are on your way Now you won't have to aution off your mods
