ERL just let me know that build week is May 30th. Hard to believe that I could be driving this thing in 6 weeks.
Hey Rut Roh, when you say Bullitts, are you referring to the 17 inch wheel option that is pictured on one of the last pages of the 2005 Mustang brochure? It shows a 17 inch wheel option that has spinners. I believe this is shown as a "genuine Ford accessory". How much do those cost? Do you just order them with your vehicle? I couldn't see how to order them or what they cost.
I' Ve Been Waiting Since Feb. 1 St And Don't Know Anything About My Car.i've Contacted Ford ,rep, dealer, anyone Who I Thought Could Answer When To Expect It. I Have Heard The Interior Upgrade Pkg. Your problem as with the rest of us suckers stuck in c/u land is most likely a dealer allocation problem. If your delear says it is clean/unscheduled, welcome to the wait.

Yep. What he said. The painted "bullitt" style 17" wheel is standard on the car. I saw no need to upgrade since i'll be upgrading to 18s or 19s once I roast the rubber off the bullitts.

Like said earlier. Its all about allocation for your specific dealer. Get the dealer code, your order number and start chatting with the evil robot lady to get updates on your unit. I got lucky and ordered on 3/9 (yes I ordered the IUP) and was serialized and scheduled by 5/7.
Good luck to ya.

pcfrisch, I hope this does not offend you, and it is not meant to, but, I just received a Vin # and a build date of 5/30 on the car I ordered 5/5/05 from the dealer in Daytona Beach. I can't believe the difference from my CT dealer. I really hope yours comes through and I only posted this to let everyone know you can still make it happen for an 05. I will stay on the thread to see how it goes. Best regards for a schedule date soon !!!! :thumbup
sltwtr, I have just followed your lead. I have been following this thread for quite a while now. I have an order in for a GT from December of '04 with a local dealership in Wisconsin. I too have been in c/u land for a long time now. Decided your plan makes sense, so I called Gary Yeoman's. Dealt with John Clark and Fred Smith, and all went well. Ordered the exact same vehicle as the order in December '04. They tell me this vehicle will arrive in about 8 weeks. I'll keep posting progress on it. I bet it beats my order from December '04 - which by the way, I do not intend to cancel. If I end up with two Mustang's I'll deal with that "problem" later.

permajen, Congrats !!!! I can't believe this whole deal got so screwed up to begin with. I am so glad I found Gary Yeomans, they really know how to get it done. So either we ship the car from them to us or we take a road trip and wander our way home. At 62 my wandering may not be on purpose and I hope to make it home by the 4th of July if all goes on schedule. If not I'm ok with that as well. Retired. I still can't figure why so many people are getting screwed on these orders. I am happy you will own one as well.!!!!!! Great job and good luck !!!!! As I said ordered 5/5, Vin # 5/9 can't get any better than that, at the same price as Connecticut as well.
I plan to do the road trip. My Dad has volunteered to come along. Should be a "hoot"! Never thought about having the vehicle shipped up to me. I would imagine that would cost quite a bit, and wouldn't be anywhere near as fun!

It would be 400 to 500 dollars. You are right , the road trip will be a hoot. My son, 38, may come with me. Not needed, easy for me to say, but it could be like the old days on a spring break except now it's summer break time. Enjoy the ride and loosen your old man up on the trip home. I plan to do the same with my son. LETS RIDE !!!!!! Now each grandson will have a sweet ride later on in life. Both are 4 years old. My son's son will get the 1967 Shelby Cobra and my second grandson will get the Shelbyized 2005 GT ( professionally done) when he is old enough and I've had my fun with it. Pics of both when the 05 GT is finished by a few Ford Motorsports retirees ( two actually worked with Shelby in producing the 65 and 66 GT 350's ). Should be an amazing ride. Will continue to monitor this forum, it has been a great site to learn and react from. Best Regards, sltwtr
There is another option. You can have the car drop shipped to a closer dealer. The dealer will charge a certain amount to prep the car. I had to do this since I moved to Texas just after my car got serialized. Fred-Fred is going to receive the car for me and get it all ready. This way I only have a couple hour drive to pick it up
The road trip would be fun though.

If you live in the upper MidWest, my rep told me 20 Mustangs are on the way
Hi all,
I've browsed the forums since March. I didn't want to jinx my order, so I haven't posted anything until now, but mine should be in later this week or next week.
My rep told me they will be getting 20 mustangs; V6, GT's and verts due to a very large truck order they placed. He is a straight shooter and great to work with. He didn't want his name posted, so I told him I will put the information out, and whatever interest it gets... so be it.
The dealer is in North Dakota. Easy to drive or fly in. You can email me if you are interested. He did say the cars need to be sold at the dealership and not shipped to another dealer for purchase.
If you email or PM me, I will forward your information to him, and he can take it from there.

sltwtr - maybe this is a dumb question. Earlier you said you would keep your CT order in, and when that car comes in, you would "flip it" to help offset your Florida costs. What exactly do you mean by "flip it". Will you take delivery and sell it yourself as an almost new vehicle, or will you propose to the CT dealership that they pay you to walk away from the order contract so they can sell it for more? I ask, because I expect to someday be in the same position, and I wonder which option is best for us. Thanks.
