The GT's are selling for a premium and rather than take delivery I believe I can make a deal with my Dealer and share a bit of the premium he will charge. Not guaranteed but I do know the auctions are selling used GT's for list price even as used vbehicles.. See what your dealer says. New England was boned with the number of GT's sent here so the demand is way up. Not sure of your area. I will stay on these posts to keep up what is going on. Good luck. I may even have a person I know want the car so its a buy sell deal ay a good price for the new buyer. I guess there are many ways to do it. I'm sure someone else will post with other ideas.

Hi pcfrisch,

I wanted to let you know that the dealership I ordered from told me last week that the other customer that ordered ahead of me in January by a week has indicated that he is not going to purchase the unit now. I believe they said it was a twin to my Redfire GT except it did not have the wheel locking kit ordered with it. They said it was a Redfire GT Premium with dark charcoal interior, IUP, 5-speed, Anti-theft alarm system. If you are interested let me know and I will send you the information on how to contact them. I was told this unit should be arriving sometime the end of May or beginning of June. This dealership if located North of Detroit.

I called the computer lady last night and the recording now say's as of May 16th I am locked in for production the week of May 16th. Last week it said as of May 5th I was scheduled for production the week of May 16th.
My question is what is the difference if you or any one else knows.

Spanky

Default clueless

I dropped in on my dealership the other day. Had an hour long conversation with the owner and the general manager. A lot was said, but nothing was promissed. Been waiting for 22 weeks +, and they aren't able to tell me anything difinitive about my c/u order. Suggested I could end up with an '06, but said it's still possible my order will get pulled in time for an '05. They couldn't tell me anything about the process of ordering an '06. They believed the price bump would be minimal, and were not sure if price protection was possible. Couldn't tell me anything about what options/colors will be available for '06. Also didn't know when would be the time to begin ordering '06's - or if old '05 orders will automatically become '06 orders. To top it off, they were not even aware of the 1-800-robot lady phone number!

I know more about the Mustang ordering process than my dealership knows, and I learned it all by following this thread for the last week or two.

mlejneks, Your dealer knows full well what is going on and they do not deserve your business. If they are so out of touch how do they stay in business? Go to a large dealer with style and blow these jerks off. I had the same problem, ordered 1/15/05 and up until last week they knew "nothing", still c/u with no prognosis. I called a large dealer in the south and re-ordered 5/5. Got a vin # 5/9, a build week of 5/30 and will have the car I want at the end of June. How a dealer can expect to keep customers with an 'I don't know" answer is beyond me. I dealt with a friend and still was treated like I didn't know jack. Do yourself a favor and find a large dealer with allocation left and get an 05. If you want I will give you the dealer I dealt with, I know he has cars left to order.

Thanks for the advice sltwtr. As I mentioned, I have been following this thread, and I am aware what you have done - and it certainly has worked well for you. I see others have started to follow your lead on this. I give you guys credit for being courageous enough to order a second vehicle. I am in the same situation as pcfrisch, in that I have too good of a deal to just walk away from it, plus I have waited so long, that I feel even without allocation, my order must pull soon. I am price locked at 2k under current MSRP, and perhaps that's part of the problem. Obviously my dealership has no allocations because it would have been built by now, but they also may have figured that there isn't much incentive for them to sell me that car at that price, and that's why they aren't pushing the right buttons to get this car built. I am stubbornly wanting to wait this out and hold them to that. 2K is a lot of $ to me. Plus, last week, after hearing from the robot lady, I ended up speaking with a real live person. He didn't ask me to identify myself. I simply asked if he could tell me anything about the status of this order. He took a moment and said his records show my order should serialize during the 17th week - which he said was this week. So maybe (hopefully) I break through by Friday.

Hey Spanky 93LX5.0 where at near Detroit? I ordered mine through Suburban Ford in Waterford.

sltwtr ----- Did you have to pay sticker or does your dealer take X Plan?

I respect your persistence. I was relating my experience only, and at MSRP I was thrilled to get the same deal in Florida. I have posted with pcfrisch and salute him as well. The inablity of a dealer to at least say "I don't think your car will be built is inexcuseable in my book. You order in good faith, place a deposit in good faith and lo and behold they have no answers. I cannot afford two and will not take delivery on the oldest order if it is produced but may "share" the upside bump my delaer will enjoy for a highly sought after car in New England. My decision to hunt down "my car" was made due to frustration and an inability of the dealer to tell me anything except no more GT's in New England. I was amazed at how easy it was once I found the right dealer. Best of luck with your "walk about" and I sincerely hope you wind up with an 05 as ordered. :thumbup :thumbup :thumbup

My original order was at MSRP so when I got the same deal in Florida I was happy. Call there and see if they do x-plan., its a huge dealership. On the web they show an inventory of 914 "05" model vehicles . 1 - 866-200-3048 ask for Robert the inventory man at yeomans ford, daytona beach, Fl

Default There ARE good dealers!

Hello all,
Apologies for the long post. I just took delivery of my '05 Sonic Blue Gt coupe, and it was a very pleasant experience. I'd like to put a good word in for Paul Harvey Ford of Indianapolis. I had to wait (ordered 2/05/05), but it was well worth it! When I sat down with the finance guy, he informed me of a price increase that Ford had of roughly $500 on the car. Had I not kept my original order sheet, I probably would have had to pay it. I don't believe they did this intentionally, and when I presented my original sheet, the matter was cleared up within a couple of minutes, and I didn't have to pay extra. They did right with me. X Plan is accepted there, too; that's how I got mine. Since I already had set up financing, I was out of the dealership in less than an hour. Great experience over all. Anyone in Indy looking to be treated right? Go to Paul Harvey Ford.

Why Friday? I don't get it. There are still 3 months left for production. How could the dealer determine that Friday is the last day yours could get pulled?

Good question, I think he misjudged his allocation.
I waited all this time for nothing

I've been following your plight. It's made me so paranoid that I cancelled my 2/17 order from my B.S. dealer in Pennsylvania. I fly down to Birmingham tomorrow to pick up my triple black. So what if it isn't redfire! Can't believe I was making fun of the Bama dealers last week for not having web sites. They have been wonderful to deal with. Even offered to pick me up from the airport. They told me they should be getting one in this coming week with 3k miles on it (trade-in for a Saleen) Bob Adamson Ford.http://www.allfordmustangs.com/forum...ons/icon14.gif
