I've been following your plight. It's made me so paranoid that I cancelled my 2/17 order from my B.S. dealer in Pennsylvania. I fly down to Birmingham tomorrow to pick up my triple black. So what if it isn't redfire! Can't believe I was making fun of the Bama dealers last week for not having web sites. They have been wonderful to deal with. Even offered to pick me up from the airport. They told me they should be getting one in this coming week with 3k miles on it (trade-in for a Saleen) Bob Adamson Ford.http://www.allfordmustangs.com/forum...ons/icon14.gif
My dealer kept saying everything is fine right on schedule, nothing to worry about, everything is cool. don't worry be happy. I kept asking him every week on the status, mentioned this forum, :thumbup he asked me if I thought he was lying to me because I kept questioning him, yesterday he says, it probably wont be built as a 05 : Don't have the allocations

pcfrisch - did your dealer tell you anything about the '06 process? Will your '05 order automatically become an '06 order, or will you need to re-order from scratch? Will they price protect your order? Will lack of allocations keep them from getting you an '06 quickly? This is all additonally frustrating because those of us in c/u land are starting to prepare ourselves to the reality of getting an '06 model, yet there is no information on '06's!!! I ordered a legend lime '05, but I can't help but wonder if that color will be available in '06!!!

O K Just got a call from my original dealer and guess what? I am now the proud owner of twins. The car from 1/15/05 has been picked up for production. Dealer says what are you going to do. My response was I will sell it for the higher price you would sell it for on e-bay. If they don't want to split the premium price I will sell it new, no miles. Amazing they came up with a serialized date after I told them about buying the other car from a Florida dealer. Unbelievable. Anyone want a Wht Prem, 05 GT, 5 Spd Premium, Dark Charcoal leather, shaker 500, 17" Bullit wheels? MSRP no up charge. It can be yours around the end of June. Proud father of twins.
I can't believe it. The evil robot lady said it was still being shipped so when the dealer called yesterday and said it was here I was completely floored. Man, it is cool to drive. I love the sound and the look.
Congrats sltwtr!!! Twins!!! How exciting! I am sure you never expected th CT dealer to come through like that. Are you at all tempted to cancel the Florida order? I imagine you are too far along to cancel. If you would cancel, tell Gary Yeoman's that I'll gladly take your Build date!!!! I continue to follow your lead. Again congrats!!!

I am really conflicted as to the direction to go here. I am really amazed at the customer service level at Yeomans. Three calls since 5/5 to update me with vin #, build Date etc. They deserve my business. The other dealer is moaning about my potential cancellation and threatening me with no refund of my deposit. I don't need to fly to Florida for a new car. I could have it shipped and save the time. I just don't know. The cost is the same except for the flight. Any suggestions ???? I am ill equipped to handle twins. The plumbing doesn't work right for that !!!!
I'll tell you, I took the suggestions to call Yeoman's Ford down in Daytona after having ordered one from a local dealer in Buffalo, NY and not hearing anything, they are without a doubt such a great bunch of guys, they placed my order today and said I should be driving on the beach in 8 to 10 weeks. Hands down a class act!! Thanks for the information and the recommendation, I'll have to deal with the cancellation up here, but i know for a fact my car wasn't going to be built anytime soon.

I talked to the Dealer today, long story. When I ordered mine it was in the middle of the IUP lawsuit mess (some people cancelled their order with IUP and changed to the other option interior option which messed things up further, then, the convertables messed up the dealer allocations, along with the number of standard vs automatic transmissions, he also said that the suppliers of the rear ends are having trouble keeping up with demand, with that being said, if my order does not get pulled tonight, my chances are pretty much nil of getting an 05. He said I do not need to reorder that they would take care of that, he said they will give priority (this is a dealer responsibility to do) to the ones who have been in C\U land. which means I will be about second in line for their 06 orders. Because of this, he said I should get my 06 by August or September, The dealer will contact the people in C\U land and ask them if they want to roll over or not, again, this is the dealership responsibility, not Fords! He said that they have not received the pricing yet, and contrary to things I have read on this board, he also said Ford has not given an order date for the 06's or the options yet. I know others have found their mustang out of state, but I got a real good price, the dealership is close, and they accept the x-y-z plans, where some do not.

You know this is funny and sad at the same time. You waited forever and then at the last minute, your ordered one because you had the chance and then your original gets a build date! I can't believe that, the world has gone crazy. Congrats on your luck. I wonder how this affects warranty work from your local dealer?
Congratulations on your car(s) You finally did it!

pcfrisch, I'm not sure it's lucky at all. I am meeting with my original dealer on Sat am and will see what I can do relative to the high demand for the car in this area. I already have another dealer, not Ford who wants to buy it from me for 1K above my cost to resell it in his GM dealership for 34K. Even though it will be a sold car there will be no additional miles on it and it will appear new.. The GM at the F dealer has been pushing the fact he can sell these for premium prices and the fact mine came up for build doesn't seem to a positive for them unless I cancel and they can bump it up. Somehow I feel a bit "soiled" by the car business. Who knows. Will relate the resolution next monday. Continued good luck in your pursuit of drwam vehicle.
Does anyone know if the Verts are in exactly the same production/allocation queue as the Coupes? Since they started vert production late in the model year, are they still going to cut production on 2005s at the same time as coupes?
I ordered a Screaming Yellow GT Vert on 4/23/2005 and called the dealer today for info. He said they didn't know anything yet, which I assume means either they didn't really check or I'm in C/U hell. I tried the 800 lady, but she doesn't understand me. I'm trying to plan my summer and need to know ballpark when to expect it.
Anyone know what the average time from order to delivery is on GT verts?

It all comes down to one word that most people are sick of hearing.....ALLOCATION..... it depends on how many mustangs your dealer is allotted for the year, how many have been built and delivered, etc....
This is the first convertible GT they have ordered, and only the second GT of any type. The poor first guy that ordered a Coupe just got it and he ordered back in October. They have 3-4 V6s. What does that mean? Bad?

It's a real real long shot, but i would certainly plan on getting a 2006 sometime in the fall
sltwtr and all
Thanks for the info about Yeoman in Daytona. Called and placed order today. he has a bunch more allocations to use. he did accept X Plan!!!!
Thanks
Kevin
