sltwtr, you have really started something. Others continue to follow your lead. I am anxious to hear from you on Monday on how your "negotiations" go with your CT dealership. You have "hand". You are in control. Get what you deserve out of this.

Good Luck!!!

Yup, the covertable in part helped mess up my order, my dealer said they are part of the same allocation.

Hey pcfrisch, I know you have your fingers crossed that your order gets pulled tonight. I am hoping for both of us tonight. My question is: How will you find out if yours pulled? Wil robot lady have that info tomorrow morning? I just called her a few minutes ago and she said "as of May 10th" which means she is two days behind for me. Or will you call your dealer tomorrow?

The Dealer will let me know in the morning, I do not know what time the robot broad is updated. But on a positive note, If I have to get an 06, I will not be too disapointed, after this long of wait, I can wait a little longer, plus hopefully they have taken care of most of the bugs from the 05's. Also they might have some descent new features like 18" wheels for example. My dealer will take the left over people as the first priority in the order bank, just an fyi, he said that any orders taken during the week get submitted to Ford on thursday evening, which makes sense since the robot broad updates her info also then. Good luck! :thumbup

My dealer called me today asking me if still wanted the order I placed 12/29/04. They finally got the allocation and say they will be using it on my car since I have obviously not changed my mind about getting the car. What a stupid question. It also seemed like he was worried that they weren't getting the allocation at all despite the fact that they promised me 05 a month ago.
I've also noticed that the 1800 lady seems to update late thurs pm, so I'm hoping to hear something later tonight.

Anyone here heard any new status on their GT being built this week (week of May 9th). I have called the 800# robot lady and she still gives me the same tune - as of May 12th your unit is scheduled to be built week of May 9th. When does it usually ship from the plant to the dealership? I am hoping to take delivery end of next week.

ECoastGal, Glad to hear your good news. I wasn't going to inquire - I didn't want to jinx you.

Default Apparantly NOT serialized again!

My news is not so good. Called Robot lady this morning, and she said "as of May 12th, c/u. I was really hoping this would be the week, but apparantly NOT!!! I better face the reality of an '06. I never would have dreamed that ordering this car on Dec 3, 2004 wouldn't get me an 05!!! What a deal!!!! My dealer told me at the time of order that it would be 10-12 weeks, maybe he meant MONTHS!!!

I am so sorry. That really stinks. This is truly a sad day. I really think that Ford needs to re-examine its ordering process.

While I hold no animosity for those people who ordered their cars last week and already have a build date, I find myself being more and more resentful of Ford. I read a couple of weeks ago how Ford's stock was downgraded to junk status. I think that if they were truly prepared, the profit they could have made from the 05 mustang sales would definitely have helped.

After my hubby's mustang comes in, I am going to order a car. However, it won't be a Ford. I am through with them.

Thanks for the sympathy. You know what it's like to order a car and wait a long time. You must have been thrilled when you finally got the serialized news on your order. Can you imagine how you'd feel if your 12/1/04 order was still c/u? I can tell you it's aweful. Glad to see that your story will end happily though with the arrival of your ordered car soon.

My heart goes out to you. I know how frustrating it is to be in C/U land forever. Hopefully you will get good news soon. I was almost to the point of giving up myself, but by some miracle I was serialized. Try and be optimistic.....miracles do happen :thumbup

Default Just thinking here.....

For those of us who ordered an '05 from a dealership with no or few allocations, who are now being told it will likely end up being an '06 model, what will change for us? I mean, if our dealers couldn't get us an '05 in a timely fashion, why should we expect them to do better with an '06???? Won't demand continue to be high? Won't it still come down to allocations? Isn't Ford going to keep feeding the "important" dealerships all the allocations? Isn't Ford also going to want to build a bunch of '06's that can be put on dealership lots to be seen by people before they fill all the orders? I am starting to think we may be in for a very long wait if we continue to expect our CURRENT dealerships to get us our car. Seems to me the problem may get worse before it gets better.

That's exactly why I left my dealership here in upstate NY, and found a great dealership in FL, 5th largest Mustang dealership in the US. Paid MSRP exactly as I would pay either place, and definitely better customer service.
