Can anyone confirm that the 800# is still working? Would I be able to use that to find my VIN (if available) using the dealer code, body code, order number, and model year?

Get the info stated in your response from the lady, then start calling, this may have changed as i was one of the people in this thread back 2 years ago, this is how we did it.
The dealer has access to the online version i believe, have her check it daily and have her email the info to you if calling is out of the question. ALSO you can go to blueovalnews.com in the employee section look for threads with viperpilot in it. he can checkonline for you as he is an employee. he can give you very detailed info as well as a PDF of your window sticker.
Good luck, stay safe and Thanks for your service!!!!!!!!!!

Default Waitin on my 09

Hey ya'll I know this question has been posted a gazillion times but I gotta ask again. I just received my VIN and build week as Nov. 10 (order date was Sept. 13) and I'm trying to get an idea of how long from Salie The Third's birthday until she reaches the dealership. I just need a ballpark timeframe. I noticed a bunch of posts back in 05 but that was a new body style and I'm guessing that the order numbers were HUGE so it was quite backed up. I'm hoping for a delivery date before Thanksgiving. Am I hoping for too much? I'm chomping at the bit!

re read the first few pages of this thread, that still might work.
If not i would give daily calls to your dealer to check status.
It only takes a a day or so once the car has started down the assembly line to make it the transporter (via rail or truck).
I ordered mine and got it in about 30 days total.
here are my dates::::::

Order date : 5/12/2005
Receipt Date: 5/12/2005
Serialize Date: 5/12/2005 Vin # 1zvft82h955230162 build scheduled for June 2
Segment Date: 5/12/05
Sequence Date: 5/19/05
Blend Date: 5/25/05
Produced Date: 6/2/05 Happy Birthday
Gate Release Date: 6/3/05
Ship Date: 6/3/05
Arrival Date: 6/15/05
Sold Date: 6/21/05

I picked it up in Florida so transportation time wasnt very long.
Good luck

AWESOME! Thank you! I bought my 99 new off a lot in Georgia so ordering a new one to my liking is a new thing for me. My dealer is awesome and he updates me as soon as he hears anything....I never have to contact him first unless I have a question about something. So far if I take delivery the week of Nov. 17 it will be 2 months and 2 weeks since I ordered. Longer than I would like but I'm assuming Ford has some issues going on with layoffs and increased production of more fuel efficient cars. I say damn the gas bill.....I'm ready for my V8!! I've worked my way up from my 93 4cyl to the V6 I have now.....insurance on a GT for a someone in their 20s is INSANE. Now that I'm in my 30s I'm ready! Thanks again for the info and as soon as I bring her home I'll be sure to post some pics!

Default Salie The Third is Finally Here!

My 2009 GT finally came in last week! It took 3 months. The dealer said the economy and some slowdown at the plant held things up a bit. She was well worth the wait! I haven't posted pics yet because I've been busy learning to drive my first standard. I'm doing much better but I still have issues with stopping on an incline! I've named her Salie The Third because my first stang was a 93 LX 4cyl named Salie (college car), my second was a 99 35th Anniversary V6 named Salie Jr (she's younger)....I've worked my way up to a V8 finally and Salie The Third HAD to be a stick shift. Anyway...here she is!

Congrats!

We've got similar pedigrees. My previous ride was a 96 V6 which I drove for 10 years....until I got my current 2006 GT. Now that I've tasted the GT, I'll never go back!

Hang in there on the clutch/throttle coordination; eventually it'll be second nature for you!

haha funny you say that, when i went from my 05GT to my current 04 Cobra. I had to retrain myself how to shift. the cobras setup is very different and requires more muscle on the leg and it is a 6 speed to boot. to a few days, now it shifts as smooth as glass
