OMG! My car was built yesterday in Detroit. Dealer just called and said it was delivered to him (in Cincinnati) today. How can you possibly get one any fresher.

Anyone know if a dealer can change the Priority on an order midway through? i.e. my dealer just told me he moved it from a 20 to a 10 (it's been 7 weeks and still C/U)...he said it will have a build date next week. He said Ford updates the system on Monday. I always thought it was Thursday. anyone have insight?

I don't know who came up with Ford starting to build the 06's in June, but that is incorrect. Ford does not retool their factory's for the next model year until late September or early October. Plus they recently started to roll out the convertable 05 mustangs, so their not going to be starting the 06's for quite awhile. Ford just increased production to 80,000 more mustangs for the 2005 model year. I highly doubt that Ford will be able to make 80,000 more cars between now and June.

I got a call from my dealer last Friday and he told me my Mustang GT will be built real soon and I will be taking delivery in early May. I ordered on 2/14, and was told 12-14 weeks.

From what Ive read, a dealer can change the priority number anytime he sees fit, up until its built. Additionally, I have read that Ford pulls orders (to be built/serialized, etc) on Thursday. As a result, if you are still C/U most check on late thursday or friday mornin to see if their status changed. Other than that, the 800 system is up to date all the time.

Personally, if I found the same car @ another dealer sans the overpriced stereo, I'd jump on it.

I just called the 800 # and got a message I cannot understand. "Your vehicle has been released by the...(inaudible)... assembly plant". Anyone get this message that can tell me what it says (and means)? I gotta be getting close...

Hey KD05GT, . . . This missing inaudible word that you're looking for is "Foreign". It means that your car has been built at the AAI plant and is ready/cleared for shipment.

My Perf White GT with IUP,ICAP, Auto Trans & Bullits that I ordered on Dec 9th is now statused as of today'Shipped by Convoy Carrier'. It's build week was this week.

Too bad I canceled the order from my dealer on Feb 16th after 10 weeks of being C&U. The order got serialized the next day. I re-ordered with Fred-Fred on Feb 16th and I'm still C&U.

If anybody wants my original order the GT should be at Randall-Noe Ford in Terrell TX in a couple of weeks.

I did find the exact car i want at another dealer (arriving on April 13th)---it just doesn't have the Shaker 1000---but i can definitely live with that.

My dealer knows LESS than the 800 number!

That's bull not to give you their dealer number... must be published somewhere...??

I just called to check on the status of my GT coupe and the cyber-lady said that Ford is closed for the Holidays I guess even the UAW computers get the holidays off at Ford

You got that right. They will barely fit in the trunk as it is. In checking my vert out this afternoon I was suprised to see that it does not have home link installed. Gotta find my old garage opener now.

I just came from my Ford dealer and the sales manager gave me a copy of my vehicle order confirmation print out. He also showed me where I stand in the lineup for mustang orders for their dealership. Mine is at the top of the mustang list to be built in the next couple weeks. I am a priority 10, is this a good thing? My salesman said I might even have it before the 12-14 week time frame that they originally told me.

Surprisingly, it went easier than expected. Fairfield Ford (OH) who is notorious for addendumn stickers, had mine ready and waiting. No addendum stickers. Had their ducks in a row for price protection and no extraneous fees (outside of a $30 tag fee) on my X plan car. 7 weeks from order to delivery of a GT premium with IUP, ICAP, side airbags, active anti-theft and wheel locks. Everything went smoothly (although, they kept me an extra 15 minutes to make sure they were price protected for X plan orders).

My car had 2.7 miles on the odo when I got it. I've been driving it around for another 50 miles. It's better than I expected. No Shaker problems that I can tell. Won't know about the gas tank until I run it down to near empty. Active anti-theft works exactly the way the brochure says it should.

The car is "INTOXICATING".....

Apparently, mine "hitched" a ride on a truck last night after it left the factory yesterday morning. Thus, built yesterday....delivered today. Feeling very lucky as it was the only car delivered to my dealer today (must have made a special trip from the truck driver).

Too dark to take pics. Will do so this weekend. Dealer had 3 offers on mine for MSRP while I sat there waiting for the title to be transfered. But, my name was on the sticker, so it would have been pretty hard to sell it from under my nose. Ended up about $150 over invoice with X plan.p:cl ap

Yours can't be far behind.
