Two months later, and they are still staring. We got ours last night, and my wife took it out for her first spin. At an intersection a classic little old white-haired lady leans out her passenger window and yells "nice car!"
At that point my wife finally understood that Mustang is not just a car, it's an event. We could have been driving an $80,000 Porsche and no-one would have blinked. Everyone loves the Mustang!
I personally can't WAIT until Ford gets it together and gets these things built! Notice you can't have any "fun" in your car without 50 people staring??? well I've been going crazy in the car anyway, already had 5 people writing down my license plate, one guy flash me a badge,I'm thinking "Hey, they shouldn't have made it go 145MPH if that's not it's intended use!" Ford, get them out there so I don't stick out so much!!!!
I have had people run in the street to ask me about the car. I have had old guys in Jags not one Jag, Jaguarssss give me the thumbs up. Kids gawk at it. Women love it. I can't wait till it gets warm. You know what I'm happy.
I've had my GT for about 2 months. Lots of gawkers. Lots of thumbs.
The best has to be two girls in a minvan screaming and yelling with pure joy when I dropped it into third and lowered the boom... they never caught up. But they were happy.
Took a trip to Atlanta, had a minivan full of camera phones try to chase me for a mile. I was impressed, the grocery getter kept pace until 100.
Driving through Atlanta, had a nice run-in with a kid driving a '68- said hello with the gas pedals.
Got mine almost two months ago and have had plenty of similar experiences as those who already posted... I have had teens drive by with thumbs up signs out the window yelling that car is awesome as they drive through the intersection and random people asking about the car...
When I was at a friends house, the neighbors kept coming out, one by one, and then getting other family memebers and friends to check it out... I finally went out to see if anyone wanted to look inside and they were like, wow, these are cool, I have never seen one standing still before...
Still after the almost 2 months I have had it, I still get the head turns as I drive it around town...

I was driving down the road today, pulled into the middle lane and stopped to make a left turn. A pickup truck driving by, stopped in the right hand lane (blocking traffic) and asked what kind of motor it had/how much horsepower it had.
I was pumping gas the other day and another guy in a pickup driving by the car looked over and told me "nice ride".
Also had an offer to trade for an 04 Accord.
Last good one: Even though I have a 2 car garage, I have a workbench, motorcycle etc..etc.. so we only get to use one bay for the car. Normally my wife and I battle to see who can get the garage. Ever since the Mustang, she *never* parks in the garage. She reserves that for the Ponycar.
First car this type of thing has ever happened in. Everybody I meet seems to be interested in it.
My wife also experienced a similar "conversion." She had seen the silver one I test drove and did like it (she usually does not care about cars as long as they are good quality - and normally I do not either - except for the MUSTANG!). Then I was asking for the black one and it took about three days after the test drive to locate one. The dealer was jumping through hoops to get it for me from another dealer. With all the ups & downs she kept saying the silver one looked good, just go with that. But I kept insisting on the black. Finally they got it and called me to come in. When we arrived they had the car parked out back, under a covered area - it was surrounded by all the trucks and SUVs and it was night time with the lights shinning down right on it. My wife walked out the doors, stopped for a few seconds in silence, and said "okay, now I know why you waited."
A special moment for both of us.

Went out for a cruise on tuesday after work and I was at a red

was really cool.....:thumbup
Hello, people. I'm new to the forums. I got my '05 V6 in November 2004 and the response to this day is phenomenal. If you don't like the attention, this is not the car to get. I've gotten thumbs up, people yelling "nice car!", an Excursion filled with a group of rather shady-looking guys staring at me with blank looks on their faces and following me everywhere I turned until I floored it and lost them. Man, that freaked me out! And that was before I got my stripes. It just continues. People just love this car.
The first night I got mine driving back from the dealer had a ricer with a grapefruit shooter exhaust pull right beside me in traffic and rev his car, too bad I was stuck in traffic or I would have raced him, but he raced me even though I would have had to smash the car in front of me to go faster than 25mph, I guess he was real cool though and I'm not
When going to work the other day had a cop come from behind and match my speed right next to me to check it out, then he pulled away to continue his journey to whatever crime he was on his way to

As winter just broke up here the 05's are still few and far between. I'm actually the only 05 I've seen on the road. I did see one other GT parked in a driveway out on the lake front but that's it.
I've gotten the thumbs up, people talking to me at stop lights, people stopping me in parking lots, people yelling "Nice Car!" as I'm trying to use the ATM. Even a couple completely slack jawed stares. My wife followed me all the way back from the dealer and she commented that about 80% of the guys followed the car through the intersections, head turning till I was well down the road. I've even had people stop completely in there tracks as I drove by.
Probably the best one was when I stopped at a cell store so the wife could get a charger. I sat in the car and before I knew it I had 2 people at my window and the entire store staff/customers at the front store window checking the car out.
I'm sure the attention will die out as it gets to be a more common sight, but I'm enjoying the moment.
Cobrastang. Really nice looking stripe job. Paint or vinyl or mylar? If you want to say How much? Side stripes look good as well, all painted or is it a purchased kit? I hope to do a similar treatment to the car I have had on order since 1/15. Still C&U and straining at the bit. At my age stress is not a good thing.

out the driveway, I immediately get attention from neighbors. Let's not talk about on I-95, where people have sped up to look at the front, and decelerated to look back at the rear. True, this is our 15 minutes of fame, because everyone soon will own a mustang. But, what if Ford slowed down production a little bit? Besides the dealer, I've only seen one more Mustang on the road, and that was two months ago. When I picked her (Sofie) up at the dealer, they said they were leaving the lot two days after they arrived from customers. Well, I can only say that people were traveling from different states to get their hands on one. I used to have a 2004 Audi A4 with a sports package. And that was a serious head turner, but three months later they were popping up everywhere like hot cakes. Now, what might happen, is that Ford might gradually raise the price on these puppies because of the demand. But, until every house owns one, let us all enjoy being "That Car" on the city streets. Anyone in the MD area here?
Ford has already had one price increase of about $250 for the Mustang. I'd say it's a safe bet that they'll raise the price again for the '06 models.

yep, I've owned a wide range of cars over the last 20 years, including a black 02 GT Convt.... but nothing could have prepared me for the reactions I'm getting from people with my new 05.. I mean it's down right comical! Best comment i've overheard so far... I'm in the local 7-11 when the typical local guy walks in.... Carhartt Jacket, NASCAR hat, pickup truck... I walk up to the counter just in time to hear him tell the clerk, "I'm all CHEVY, but I could drive THAT!"
