Thanks. It's painted on and cost me $600.00. It was the cheapest price I could find near me (SW Florida). The guy did a great job on it. I got more looks from the women when it was just white, but I like the Shelby look. Glad you like it. If you can get it done, do it. You'll love driving it even more! :thumbsup

Cobrastang: I have a white 05 GT, and have been thinking about getting stripes like yours. Part of me things I'm too old (44), but, dang, yours look good. Maybe I'll just have to break down and do it.

I have had gas station attendants comment(always postive), clerks at drive-thru's asking me about it, lights flashed at me, thumbs up on the highway, rubbernecking, pointing, people looking at the stang when I come out from the store, people stopping me in parking lots to ask about it, clerks in restaurants asking me if it's my cool stang. Hands down, this car gets a ton of positive attention.

I bought the 'Stang for ME, not what the public thinks, I have already had neck snapping show cars before.

That said, I've got only this to say 'bout the 2005 pony GT ride...

Guys wanna be me, chicks wanna try and change me...

My wife had 2 teenage boys follow her for 15 minutes. When she got where she was going they pulled in and wanted to look at the car. She said one of them said he was going to tell his dad to get him one. She laughed and ask him if he knew just how hard a GT was to come by. We have the only GT in town and when you toss in a attractive 30ish female behind the wheel..........the stares and attention just get multiplied. I'm sure some of the other ladies on here can attest to that.

Lexigirl, Age makes no difference. I am 61 and the stripes are going on as soon as I get my white 5 Spd.. I maybe a year older by then, its taking a long time, since early Jan, and still C&U. Go for it , it is a tribute to the 60's Shelby and looks great. You are one of the fortunate owners who have their car. Enjoy !!

Hey lexigirl: Your never too old! Go for it! I'm 38 and quite frankly there's nothing better than driving past those rice-burner musclecar wannabe's and getting envious looks from them. We are all driving the ultimate American automotive icon. Just sit back and enjoy the ride.

I hear you all. It's kind of strange. I mean I like the fact that people like the car but it's weird getting all the attention at times. People honking the horn while you're stopped at a light to ask about the car. I had a dude hanging out the window of a pickup truck with his hand to his ear apparently listening to the exhaust. I've had people yelling "Hey that's a cool car" and it's just funny to me. I try not to pay too much attention at times but I swear when I do people just are looking at the car. I hope this works out to be a babe magnet because that would be a good thing! Funny stories though people, I am enjoying reading them so keep them coming.

The only attention I like is just that, the ones that listen to the exhaust, when I see someone pass me,then roll their window down,I usually tach her up to 5 grand and blow by for fun, always a crowd pleaser! Otherwise I hate the attention,I'm married,33,and have one 16 month old daughter, with one on the way, why would I care if girls like it? I can't count how many carloads of SN95 bodied 6 bangers have tried to pull me over to "talk" about the Mustang,Ford, hurry the %&!* up and make these things!!! Tempation is a mo fo! But hey, she is gorgeous going down the road, black exterior with dark charcoal leather,1000 watts thumpin,2.5'' exhaust howling, smoked out window,I'm in love~!

I can attest to it. I have had mine for 4 weeks now. There are more and more showing up on the road. We did the stripes to be different and because I really wanted them. Lot's of look's and comments.

I was crawling alongside a strip mall this past weekend, and I look at the reflection in all the stores' plate glass windows, and i say to myself, "who is driving that sexy automobile?" "oh yeah, that'd be me, uh huh, I'm bad, I'm so bad". so cool I should start smoking again

then I had park closeby where I could see it whilst I had a coffee a the sidewalk cafe. It's still fun watching people walk by and take a closer look.

I get my best responses when I'm at a light and I get ready to pull away and people hear that throaty exhaust. Especially when they find out it's coming from a V6.
