Default not hitting 300 hp?

I have read quite a few post about gt's only hitting like 275-280hp. does anyone know why these rating are 20hp below the claimed hp?

If they are dyno numbers from a chassis dyno then they are correct, the engine is NOT making the advertised 300 HP. They are making WAY MORE. Using an industry standard 15% driveline loss on a manual transmission, the 275 equates to right around 325 hp. The difference is all in where you take your readings from.

The advertised hp rating is at the flywheel not the tires. Just add 15 % for drivetrain lose, 316.25 to 322. The new stang is a bit of a sleeper with these numbers.

So does that mean that the automatic transmission has more hp than the standard?

The engine has the same hp. The manual will put more of it to the ground because in a auto more of it is lost in the torque converter and all the clutches and bands.
