Called the order staus number yesterday they moved my build date from week of 12/20/04 to 01/03/05. Called today they moved it again to week of 01/17/05. Went to dealer and was told because of demand for 5 speed manual transmission with the GT my car built date was changed. She said that my car has been built but waiting for tranny, worst case I won't get my car until the end of Feb.

built..week of dec. 6
currently on a carrier carrivan with a delivery date of next week.

Yeah, thanks man. My wife suggested I get an automatic but I'll wait. The dealer gave me my VIN number, though. It's good news to hear your's is on the truck. While you're out there driven around don't forget about us who still wait.

hey man i feel your pain. my car is the same way. i ordered mid september, should be here mid jan according to dealer.

Is there a phone number that you use to call and find out the status of your build date? Could you post it for the rest of us who are waiting for new GTs?

What priority was your order given? I have a message in to my sales person asking about mine. I was also given a build date of 12/20. My priority is 10. I will update when I hear back.

Mine has changed as well to 1/10. FYI I ordered 11/10.

Texas, my priority code is 15 maybe thats why I'm a week behind you. With that said I don't understand why they told me it could be as long as the end of February.

Well, I also found out the plant is only running at 25-30%. Suppliers are falling short. Hopefully there won't be anymore delays for ours.

The lady at the dealer told me the car is built but waiting for a tranny, do they do that? After she told me that I asked her is it sitting outside in a lot and she told me in would be in a building. Now I've been to Detroit and visited a plant in Pontiac, Mich. and they had a thousand cars in the lot waitng for something delivery,etc.

I would say that she is full of s$%t. I have been at the Crown Victoria factory and followed the build process from start to finish. The powertrain comes in completely assembled and installed before the body is attached, so if there was no powertrain that process in the assembly would stop and thereby stop all the subsequent production.
Does she think the factory guys are going to get under the car and install the tranny like we would do it?
