Default If IUP Is A Problem Why Are Orders With It Showing C & U?

It just ocurred to me that if Ford wasn't going to build any more GT's with IUP, they wouldn't have changed the status of hundreds of our orders from being held pending resolution of a production hold for material availability to clean & unscheduled but not serialized. If the IUP was going to be an ongoing problem they would have kept the hold on the orders. I know for a fact that my dealer who is straight forward with me, told me that Ford's computer picked up an order that had IUP and it got a build date of 1/11. So I don't believe all the hype that Ford is not picking up and or building any orders that have IUP for the month of January.

My other question is:
I noticed on another forum corral.net that people are putting up info on when they ordered their cars, and everytime the system upgraded their order. The info was pretty useful because you could gauge how long your order process would take. But I still have no info on how long Ford usually takes to go from C & U but not serialized to an actual build date? Any help?

I just built my car again (exact same one I ordered on 12-6-04) on the ford.com website and the all the options are still there. i.e., the IUP option. I'm not sure if that really means anything though, but it prompted me to order it from a local dealer??

Just some thoughts.
I think that they are running low on the IUP option, and to save them for the vert buyer's, their trying to get the dealer and customer who order not to select the IUP option or if they already placed and order to cancel that option. After all they want that exposed inside of the vert's to be a ford showplace.
And the MyColor thing. Look at the booklet for the mustang. The name is tradedmarked and the process probably has a patent. All patent's have a patent search done for any infrigement. I don't think this is an issue anymore.
Hope they secure more supply. They got to be searching for that. Whished somebody from Ford would be honest and let us all know. I still feel, another couple weeks and things will be OK.

After reading about the hold-ups on the IUP/Mycolor and sweating it out wondering when my GT would be in and if I'd even get the IUP.......got word Monday,It's on the way ......with..................the IUP/My color........Guess I was one of the lucky ones. Ford has come through ...was ready to give up .....hope it turns out the same for those who orderd it.

I posted this on another thread. My car was ordered with the IUP on 11/10. It was built with the IUP, checked the invoice, this week. ETA is 1/25. I have had a VIN since 12/6. So I guess they are building cars in Jan with the IUP. If they were not going to continue to offer the IUP wouldn't they have removed it from the Ford website?

Thats the around same time I orderd mine w the IUP/MY-C.But I did'nt get a VIN till Mid December. At that time it was due around 1-3(dealer said).

They were pretty honest and upfront through it all......but didnt seem to have high hopes for orders with the IUP.......but on the other hand they just got 2 GT's in with the IUP.One was an buyer/order the other ones sittin on there lot now waitin for pickens.......so who knows.Maybe there gearing up again?

I'm curious about something, since this is my first time following something like this through order, before I do order a car. Lets say you placed your order 4 weeks ago, and it hasn't even begun to be built yet, all you have is an order number, and it has the IUP package so it's going slow. Could you still make changes to the car??

And what kind of changes can you make, only interior options, or can you actually change from say a V6 to GT - like how big can the changes be without loosing your spot in line or whatever???

Default What can you change?

Key term in your post..."without losing your place in line"....

GT is different model than V6 so seperate order. Same with the Deluxe and Premium packages...seperate orders. Some option packages would change how quickly you wanted it too. I changed the 18G and the V6 it was on, was picked up right away, and scheduled.

Add a radio that's in short supply, and you will wait...delete that same radio...and it will shorten up your time from order to ground.

I believe he was just using the radio as an example of a short commodity. For example the IUP that we've all been sick over for the past month is finally not a problem anymore. Anything can become an issue I'm learning. Everything is based upon projected numbers that Ford comes out with long before the cars go into production. When the actual numbers are much more than what was projected that's where the problems arise and commodity restrictions arise.
