Default Bullitt Wheels for V-6 Premium...

I'm a new Mineral Grey V-6 Premium owner and recently looked at some E-Bay auctions for 17" Bullitt wheels (dealer take-offs...) My question is this: I love the Bullitt wheels (not available on V-6) and don't know enough about whether 17" wheels will fit on a V-6 without screwing up the speedometer etc. PLEASE HELP!!

they're the same size as far as tire diameter. It's a +1 meaning 1 inch more wheel diameter, and -1 inch aspect ratio

it will not do anything to your speedo.

Hey VS,
I had the same notion before ordering my MG V-6. I stoppped by the dealership and they indicated that the bullit wheels will impact your speedo readings. They will not be as acurate. I guess some of the mathematicians might need to chime in on this one. Like you, I think the bullit wheels would look great on the MG. Let me know if you get the wheels, I'd love to see how they look on the V-6.

I don't think the slight difference in tire diameter will impact the Speedo much. Ford usually sets the Tire/Revs in the PCM factory tune to accomodate tire wear. Meaning they are not as accurate as you would think.

Just by a SCT xcalibrator and have the Tuner adjust the Tire/Rev to accomodate your tire combo and while you are at it load the Preimum Performance tune.... Just Flashed the PCM on my wifes V-6, 5 speed and it hauls the mail. I am going to dyno soon but it really picked up the low to midrange Performance by 15-20 rwhp. I am very impressed with the program, I also have 2 other custom files to try.

Thanks Guys...

The link to the calculator is great... The difference in size is negligible, and well within the 3% guideline (0.63%)

BTW kscoyote: MGV6 is Mineral Grey V-6
V-6 Standard tire size = 215/65R16
Bullitt Wheels = 235/55R17
Thanks again!

hmmm mine had 225/60 R16 what year was yours?

If its 2002+ you can fit 245 50 R/16s on with no problem.

I don't think so.

The wheel is 0.5" narrower.

Rough estimate:

the next step would be 225/55R16

Then 235/50R16.

I think that's probably the largest you can fit on that wheel. your speedometer would probably be a little bit off.
