 Custom paint job, newbie needs advice
Getting a plain black '05 GT. Would like to stay away from decals or stick-on type stripes. At least I would like to paint the hood solid white or go with painted on stripes just like the stripe painter application that's been posted on here. Also considering going pricey and getting something like stripes on the side, something similar to the gold colored car in the attachment (it starts in front of the side mirror, goes down through the GT badge, then turns and goes down the side of the car towards the rear wheels).
Ideally, would like to photochop something and take it into a body shop. There's a shop in town and also a city about 3 hours away. I'm assuming it'd be wise to talk to a few different shops before making a decision. Wondering if this is going to be in the 2-5 grand price range and if anyone has had/seen something similar done?
Also, if I did a photochop, do they need actual exact measurements of where to stick the paint? Or can they wing it from the photo. Does this require that they re-paint the whole car, or can they paint on top of the black and clearcoat? What kind of key words or specifications do I need to ask of them? |
