I should have looked at the date. 3.90 sounds too much to me plus they are hard to find. I'm actually thinking of going more than 145MPH. just wanna see if someone had 3.73s and how fast can they go
thanks for the input
You'll never be able to achieve the theoretical top end speed in the Mustang with any gear. My supposed top end with 4.10s and 295-45-18s is 192 mph. There's not a chance my, or any other, S197 Mustang could do that without a rocket assist
anyone got numbers on the MPG between 3.73 and 4.10's? IE> highway MPG and City for both of them?

4.10s rock!!
they whine and waste time spinning tires...
but, they still rock
All you need is better tires.

4.10s and I drive and I drive 70 miles a day round trip five days a week on the hwy. I wouldn't have it any other way. Don't let the 1-2 mpg drop scare you.
Like M&H I assume. I think ED told me that if your M&Hs lasted 12,000 miles, you would be happy. 12,000 miles would take me less than 6 mths.
Running M&Hs on the street isn't for everyone, that's for sure. But they are 10x safer on the street at my power level than any street radial would ever be. For someone running less power, especially NA, they may not be the best choice.

I see your pt. F/I with other performance mods and 4.10 gears...I can see why you need this type of tire.
ok. since we are talking about gears if I used the 3.73 (GT & auto) what would be my top speed? currently I can do 145+. and since I travel alot between cites in the wide open desert. top speed is kind of important to me
With an auto trans that has a full lockup converter (I don't know if the Mustang ones do) Your top speeds are listed below next to the gear ratio's that you can put in the rear end. Keep in mind though that your car will probably not go over 145mph no matter how it is geared though. Unless you feed it a lot more power.
