thanks for the input
You'll never be able to achieve the theoretical top end speed in the Mustang with any gear. My supposed top end with 4.10s and 295-45-18s is 192 mph. There's not a chance my, or any other, S197 Mustang could do that without a rocket assist

What's the best for an auto trans? 3.73 or 4.10?

I took the gears in my vehicle out to save weight. Unfortunately, my 60' times have slowed to a crawl.

You should take the tires off too, Those wheels can be pretty heavy. But then, that would make the mud flaps useless and we can't have that.

4.10s and I drive and I drive 70 miles a day round trip five days a week on the hwy. I wouldn't have it any other way. Don't let the 1-2 mpg drop scare you.

Like M&H I assume. I think ED told me that if your M&Hs lasted 12,000 miles, you would be happy. 12,000 miles would take me less than 6 mths.

Running M&Hs on the street isn't for everyone, that's for sure. But they are 10x safer on the street at my power level than any street radial would ever be. For someone running less power, especially NA, they may not be the best choice.

I see your pt. F/I with other performance mods and 4.10 gears...I can see why you need this type of tire.

With an auto trans that has a full lockup converter (I don't know if the Mustang ones do) Your top speeds are listed below next to the gear ratio's that you can put in the rear end. Keep in mind though that your car will probably not go over 145mph no matter how it is geared though. Unless you feed it a lot more power.

3.55 = 177.661
3.73 = 169.087
4.10 = 153.828
4.30 = 146.673

I based all the speeds on 6000rpm's and that you are running a 26.5" tall tire.

Here are your RPM's you will be spinning to go 80MPH for each rear end gear.

3.55 = 2700rpm
3.73 = 2850rpm
4.10 = 3125rpm
4.30 = 3275rpm
