Ordered X-Plan GT on St. Patricks Day (3/17), it must be the luck o' the Irish. I called robot lady today and she said "serialized and waiting for an ETA" or something to that effect! 6-8 Weeks is what I'm looking at per other threads...NICE!

Looks like another 2 months of reading the board...

I got serialized yesterday too! Ordered on 3/05. Maybe Ford is picking up the pace? I hope lots of other AFM members get similar good news soon.

Just got back from the dealership where I slapped down a $500 deposit for a screaming yellow GT coupe. My guy there swears up and down they still have allotments and that I'm "in". He's placing the order first thing Monday morning and will be calling me with an update of how it went.

I'm heart-sick with stress and worry after all the C/U horror stories around here. This is a nationally recognized dealership, so it's possible they've got the allotments. I hope he's not just pulling my chain.

Please, please, please, please pray for me.

Does serialized mean there is an engine w/ VIN number for my car? That is what my dealer leads me to believe....

i ordered in the 1st week of march 2, but i still haven't heard anything

does anyone know how these choose what gets serialized? i've read all the forums, but don't quite understand the process.

No idea how they serialize, however, I have heard that certain colors and options are all done in the same week. That way, I think, it makes it easier to run the assembly line. Don't know if that's true, but it does appear to make sense.

I'm convinced that it really all comes down to dealer allotment if you'll make the 05 production run or not. I suspect some dealers are/were taking orders that they knew they would have a hard time filling because they had so few allotments each month (each week actually is how my dealer explained it) and weren't bing upfront with the customers about it. You need to quiz your dealer more about his allotments, what priority he gave you, and what if any kind of waiting list he may have been keeping (i.e. are you 10th in line and he's only getting 2 per month?) If so, I'd look elsewhere to place your order because you still may have a chance.

I made sure my dealer had allotments, gave me priority 10 and they came through. Ordered 3/5 and the car is scheduled to be built the week of 4/25. Maybe it was dumb luck but overall it has been a pretty painless process for me.

I think it's funny how quickly some get them and how some people are still waiting from last year. Totally wierd on how Ford allots their cars across the US.

I have a theory that now that the weather is getting warmer, Ford is sending more of the GT's to nothern states. But, just a thought....

What is the number to call to see if your serialized and what info do you need to find out? (name, dealer name ect...) I may have gotten very lucky if my dealer was telling the truth. After inquiring with this dealer about a stock one he called me last week saying Ford had just allotted them another one so I ordered it on the spot. Order was suppose to be submitted last Thursday. The dealer indicated that the sales rep claimed the car would be built in 4 weeks. I'm sure it will probably be longer but a guy can dream.
