Default My VIN number has been issued

Hi folks. I'm kinda new here but have been reading post's for awhile before joining. I'm sorry if this is a repeated question but I found out today from my dealer the VIN number has been issued for my GT Mustang. So does that mean that the likely hood of me getting my car is good? I remember reading somewhere here about VIN number's but I can't find it and I can't remember how important this number is concerning my order. Thank's folk's

You get a VIN, your car has been serialized & has begun the process of being built. Assuming the order is correct & your dealer is honest, etc... you'll get your car.

Smile out of clean & unscheduled purgatory

My salesman called today and told me that my GT is serialized. I placed order on feb 14. He said would probably be four to six weeks before I take delivery. Just glad to be moved up a step.

ps The 800 lady sez it's still clean and unscheduled. Hope that's not a bad omen.

Starting to wonder about the 800 lady. Seems like half the time poeple say C/U when their car is really serialized now or being produced. Makes me feel like I shouldn't bother with the 800 number anymore if it's not accurate.

My dealer just emails me every Friday with the news "no change"

Well, good news for you, but I cannot blame you, glad you have it on the way.
More proof that Ford is really screwed up with their allocation process.

As strange as it may sound, there have been several folks moving out of C/U land with older dates lately. Yesterday I said I was going to call the "Lady" today, now I'm getting cold feet.. If she says still C/U I will probably not get the car since some of the production dates reported are now into late May. The anticipation due to recent posts is palpable but the disappointment if there is no change would be almost too much to take. I think I'll wait till later today and work up to it. The patience of some of our C/U family is amazing!!!. We all deserve production !!! C/u 1/15/05 Perf Wht GT, 5 Spd, Dk Char, Prem, !7" Whls.
