I assume you are talking about a V6, since I don't think you will be able to buy a GT for less than 25k. If that's the case, I personally don't think you will find a faster car than the Mustang V6 for less than 25K. I could be wrong, but nothing out there comes to mind.

I hate to say it, but I believe those neon srt4s fit those perameters
Alfman, I think you are correct. If the test data is correct, not only will it beat a V6, it will probably hose a GT as well.............damn!

Neon SRT-4 0-60 in 5.5 hose a GT?! Uhhh, better check those numbers again. Beat a V6, yes, but a GT will destroy the neon.
Believe me, the thought of this particular car hosing ANY Mustang is almost beyond belief. But, according the the test data, it would be close. Car and Driver: 0-60 in 5.6 seconds, top speed 153 mph
Sport Compact Car: 0-60 in 5.8 seconds, quarter mile 14.2 seconds
I guess it could depend on who's driving what.

The GT runs mid to low 13's stock but yea, the driver could make the difference - as it always does.
I'm looking forward to the first SRT4 kill story....and I hope it's mine.
Well, I hope you nail his ass good............it may be the only way to end this thread!

R & T has the 2005 stang at 0-60 in 4.9s and 1/4 mi in 13.5. If you drive a GT and lose to a peon turbo or no turbo you need to give your keys to a better driver.
With a CAI and tune, GT's can get high 12's imo...

You are all going to hate me now but I'm going to confess...I am a huge Mopar fan and had setup an appointment with the local Dodge dealer to order an ACR Dodge SRT-4 with the Stage 3 turbo installed. However the day before I decided to just go and check out the GT Stang for kicks. If it wasn't for the test drive I would be driving an SRT-4 right now.
The SRT-4 with a Stage 3 turbo get the car up to around 300 horse. The Stang starts with that. So I thought with the SRT maxed out to start with where would I go from there? That and the rear wheel drive rather than front really sold me on the Stang. But I have to admit I feel like a spy around the Ford folk. Have I moved to the "dark side"?
I told the Dodge guy my plans and he tried to sell me a Charger, but regardless of what they try and tell you there is now way you're getting a Hemi in the Charger under $30,000. Also it's heavier. I hate to admit it but Dodge and even Chevy seem to be missing the boat this year. The GTO is just to Grand Am-ish for me to even consider.

There, I've come out of the closet. LOL
I guess I'll be the first to say "May the Force be with you" (At least you came to your senses before you made the deal.)
