Does anyone have any experience (Good or Bad) when dealing with Ford Motor Company with regards to a lemon law vehicle?
I own an 05 pony with less then 2500miles that qualifies under my states lemon law, just wondering what to expect from Ford.
Thanks in advance.
I had an 2004 F150. I had a case with a Dispute Settlement Board. It was an independent board arranged by Ford. My truck qualifies for my states lemon law, but I didn't have the cash to get a lawyer. I lost my case and sold my ruck to car max.
The Dispute Settlement Board info should be in the back of your owner's manual.

They claim it is indepedant. I was on the F150 forum. There were several that said they had won and got their full money back or a new vehicle. It just depends on your evidence. I had a vibration that Ford said was within spec, I begged to differ.

Like so many on other threads - the major ones are the Fuel Tank and Transmission problems.
The lemon law qualifier for me was the time spent in the service department.
22+ days so far

Have you left it for 22+ days??? It only takes one day for the fuel tank. I can't say anything about the trans as I have not had any problems with mine. Doesn't sound like a lemon to me seems like you have a bad service dept.....

I was depressed last night so I called Lifeline.
Got connected to a call center in Pakistan.
I told them I was suicidal.
They got all excited and asked if I could drive a truck.
In my state, every calendar day in the service dept. is counted toward the lemon law.
The trans took the longest (11) and other problems added up to 20+.
You are correct that the fuel issue was a one day event, but because it went back twice on the same problem it qualifies. Contrary to want you may think, the service dept was the 'Best' part of the dealership.
For those who don't know, here a little useful information I found out about the reason it takes so long to get parts for you car. Ford had a parts distribution warehouse located just outside of NYC, easy access to rail, truck or air facilities. They closed them and relocated to Winchester, Va. with easy access to nothing. Right square in the middle of nowhere. So if you wonder why it takes alot longer to get the parts to the service departments - there you have it.
Back in 2001, I purchased a 2001 Zinc Yellow Mustang GT. The car was brand new off the show room floor. After purchase i noticed a defect in the paint near the driver side door. I immediatly drove the car back to the dealer that i purchased it from. They said they would have it re-painted. Well, lets just say i was without a vehicle for almost a month. Now that i finally could drive the car, i noticed when i would stop abruptly, there was a loud banging sound coming from the front of the vehicle. I took it to the service dept. and they found that the car missing a crossmember bolt, meaning my engine was basically banging around. Next, after 3,000 miles, the head gasket blew. The Ford service department claimed it was caused by the heads being warped from the factory. Anyway, the problem was fixed after about 4 attempts by the service dept. I kept experiencing problems with the motor. One month later i noticed the clearcoat finish was peeling off where it had been painted previously. Also the paint was peeling off the rocker panels. I obviously took the car back to the dealer. They had to re-paint again! Now that i have owned the car for 6 months, it wouldn't stay started. I took it in for service and they said they could not figure the problem out. So, i took to the next Ford dealer, and they said it was some stupid sensor. By now the car had 5,000 miles on it (the mileage was mostly due to running back and forth to dealer and home), I noticed a strange sound coming from the transmission. I took it to the dealer. They were so happy to see me! Anyway, they found a leak in my transmission. The best part was that the service technician, came over to me and said, "last time your vehicle was in here i thought i noticed something leaking from your tranny, but i thought it was just condensation"! Who was he kidding! Anway, i had a new transmission 10 days later. Anyhow, by this time it was almost winter. Time to put the car away for winter. Well, next spring, while i was washing and waxing my supposide pride and joy, i noticed the paint was peeling off the rear bumper. How could that be? Well, now i was really pissed off, i drove like a maniac to the dealer and showed them. They thought it was funny. How can purchasing a $26,000 vehicle and having all these problems be funny? Anyway, they tried to fix it. When they called to tell me that my vehicle was ready to be picked up, i hurried with excitment to pick her up. Well when i got there, i nearly **** myself. The area they painted was almost an orange color. Remember my vehicle is YELLOW. When i asked the technician about it his response was "oh the clearcoat has an orange tint and it should go away at some point"! I think he thought i was a retarded blonde girl or something. By now i was ready to smack someones head off the hood.
I finally, talked to a friend who told me about the Ford Settlement Dispute Board. They are no where involved with Ford. They are a panel of somewhat judges who decide who is right and who is wrong. I contacted them and they sent info to fill out. Also, i took pics and documented everything. Now most of the time the dealer refused to give an invoice because they claim it was warranty work and they can't give receipts for that. Whatever! Anyhow, i got a response from the dealer, because the FSDB will send the info to the dealer your having issues with or Ford. They basically threatened me over the phone. All i wanted was a new car or for the car to fixed right. I was still having engine problems. My check engine would come on almost daily and the dealer did not want to fix. Don't even try taking your car to another dealer once another has attempted to fix it because Ford only pays for one time fix on any issue. The next time it is on the dealer to pay for. Anyway, a hearing was scheduled in Pittsburgh. On the day of the hearing i had everything i needed to prove what a bunch of incompetent service the dealer performed. Well, no one showed up for the dealers side. I basically won my case. Heres the kicker, just becuase they rule in your favor doesn't mean **** is going to be fixed. What it means is that the judges contact Ford about your issues and they recommend it to be fixed correctly or there is liable cause for a lawsuit. Well, after they contacted Ford, a representative came to the dealer i was having all the problems with, and he wanted to take a look at the damage or incomplete work on my car. He was a complete di*k! He was on the dealers side even though it was plan as day when they painted the car it was the wrong color and the fact that the check engine light was coming on and the car definelty was running like it should. I didn't even have 5,000 miles on it. The Ford representative even had the nerve to ask me... "do you really know how to drive a stick? Maybe you had something to do with the problems". I wanted to smack him. Well, nothing was fixed!!! I ended up getting rid of the car. I ended up finding a better car. I still stuck with stangs but i drove over 100 miles to a different dealer! I have had no problems....
The moral of my story is- Ford could most likely care less about your issues. And the Ford Settlement Dispute Board is a waste of time.

Perhaps the single most important element in mastering the techniques and tactics of racing is experience. But once you have the fundamentals, acquiring the experience is a matter of time.

I've been looking at sites like mylemon.com and lemonlaw.com (not the FSDB you mentioned) I've heard that they work for the auto industry (whatever that means) and not Ford. You pay them nothing, their paid again by the 'auto industry'. Guess it would hurt to speak with them.
I can't imagine anybody with a 2005 even at worst case having EVERY TSB out there to do needing 22 days+ in the dealers service dept. Not acceptable. Are those guys kids or something?
I have had several TSB's and misc things done by my most accomodating dealer rep and in total I had 4 or 5 days at Ford service with only ONE overnighter. Granted I didn't need a fuel tank nor tranny done. At any rate, you should be treated right by Ford. A loaner car and free oil changes or something. It's hard for me to consider a 2005 having a Lemon case applied but, it does sound fishy.
Back when I bought my first new 'Stang, late 80's LX, it was only a bit after warranty expired when I noticed the head gasket had blown. I had to have it replaced and it cost me alot of money. I could not get satisfaction from my dealer so I used the Ford petitions board or w/e they were called at the time. Long story short, they reimbursed me. I have had no problem with FORD after many years of purchasing new cars.
Good luck.

If the parts are ordered in advance, the gas tank can be replaced in a day. It took about 3 weeks for the part to arrive. Had ours in for the replacement of the tank and a few bolts that were "MIA". Dropped the car off on a Wed evening after 5pm and got a POS loaner (not even a Ford). My car was ready by 4pm the next day with paperwork to show what they had done.
No complaints with service here...
